[His support of tolling for the replacement bridge over the Ohio River went over like a lead balloon.]

Bevin knew his numbers were in the toilet and yet he went through with it. Either he’s politically autistic, or he’s tired of being governor. From a money standpoint, he obviously needs the job like he needs a hole in the heart. But assuming he was in it because he wanted to be governor of KY, he really went about his re-election effort in a very strange way, repeatedly sabotaging his chance of a second term.

That is true, with fraud usually occurring in liberal enclaves and minority communities, one protected by elite privilege and the other by racial solidarity.

There were massive dem wins in Lexington and Louisville and also more vote fraud reported in both cities. If the dems concentrated voter fraud in just those two cities I'm wondering if they could have used their old tricks to win.Dead people voting, buses from Indiana, dems controlling polling places, people voting over and over with fake ID's its endless what could have been done hard to say.

All that said Bevin was a lousy candidate. His entire cabinet won handily and he's struggling. Lets you know a lot.

Once again the primaries are where it all happens if we can't do a better job in the primaries it will not bode well for us.

I think you are right. There could easily have been more than enough voter fraud especially in two big cities to have turned this election. While we concentrate on getting good candidates, sorta blew it with Bevin, the dems, concentrate on criminality to win.

Seems odd to be complaining about the GOP primary process when Bevin was an INCUMBENT governor.

What you are describing is what precisely happened in the 2004 Governor election in Washington state. The ‘Pub, Rossi, was ahead in the final count and the initial recount. The ‘Rat, Gregoire (aka Fraudoire), gamed the hand recount (i.e., “finding” so-called “lost” ballots, sounds familiar) to “win” by all of 129 votes out of about 2.3 million ballots counted. Of course, the ‘Pubs sued in court, but, as usual, the court shied away from interfering with an election result. They chose political expediency over justice.

I read some piece in the last couple of hours....only around 30 to 35 percent of registered voters showed up to vote. They should put this on a regular Presidential year schedule.

Good example. Similarly, during the Florida 2000 recount, the Democrats protracted the process so that new ballots for Gore could gradually be inserted during the recount through one pretext or another. As that fell short for the Dems, Florida’s judges got involved, with a divided Florida Supreme Court wanting to conduct a statewide recount. Mercifully, the US Supreme Court intervened to stop that.

If Repubs can root out Dems voter fraud....Bevin will win.

Maybe he just wants to find out how many dead people voted. 😁

The KY Governor's race had little to do with what is going on nationally. Gov. Bevin seemed to always be an outsider, since he was reared in New Hampshire, was very wealthy and lived most of his life outside KY. He never really made a place for himself with KY Republicans and his inability to understand how crucial state pensions were to teachers and state workers put the nail in his political coffin. Never mind that politicians, mostly Democrats, gutted the teacher retirement funds and did nothing to replace them long before Bevin came on the scene. Lexington and Louisville are run by Kentucky political elitists, mostly the rich and the University of KY, like most colleges and universities fits the liberal progressive role with a student population increasingly made up of out-of-state students. Having said all this, it appears that a big majority of Kentuckians are still Donald Trump supporters because they do not want their nation to fall into the hands of California and New York politicians. Many people registered as Democrats in this state feel this way. Andy Beshear, no doubt,is a good man, but like other states, Kentuckians do not want dynasties to rise up in politics. This morning, only those connected who expect Andy Beshear to feed their kitty are rejoicing. Everything is bitter sweet. The Governor's race is still too close to call, so we are told, but I believe the handwriting is on the wall for the next 4 years and we will carry on with a divided government in Frankfort, but at home, in our communities, politics will not dictate our lives for we live and we love as human beings and not as political creatures.

My post comes from my own fund of knowledge and my opinion. I have been frustrated since President Trump was in KY to hear Cable news, including FOX declare that what happened in our race would be a referendum on our President. That is just not true. The polls before this election looked terrible for Governor Bevin and it looks like our President’s visit lifted him way up in the end. We will see what happens from here.

One of the very rare cases where our candidate came out ahead in a recount of a close race. And look what it took to get that. Not only going to the USSC to finally have someone say the election officials had to follow the rules on the books and not make up new ones as they went along, but our people had to literally pound on the doors just to be allowed to observe the process. Contrast that with what Schiff is doing with his Star Chamber and double-speak (”Sure, we let the Republicans ask questions, I just won't let the witness answer them.”) Donald Trump will never be allowed to face his accuser(s) in an open and fair process. Secret trials, legal proceedings behind closed doors, no chance to confront your accuser. Doesn't sound like the America I grew up with.

It would be nice for the Republican to find 4000 votes in a janitors closet for a change. What can the Democrats say to that? If they squawked too much, it would shed light on their own SOP.

All too true. The current impeachment process is a sham meant to stir the Democratic base and generate bad news stories for Trump and the GOP in the lead up to the election. The presumed counter-stroke of the IG report on FISA abuses and Barr-Durham prosecutions of criminal violations seem awfully slow and may come too late for the public to understand and digest before the election.
