Supporters of a man who knifed and deflated a diaper-clad “Baby Trump” balloon so the president would not see it during his visit to watch a University of Alabama football game have raised almost $40,000 to pay his legal fees.
A GoFundMe page created Saturday asks for donations to help Hoyt Deau Hutchinson, 32, “pay legal fees and restitutions” for the balloon had raised $39,641 as of Monday afternoon. The goal for fundraiser was initially set at $6,000.
Hutchinson allegedly cut an 8-foot-long gash into the back of the giant inflatable, which depicted a bright orange Trump donning a diaper and clutching a cell phone.
He was arrested and charged with felony first-degree criminal mischief after fleeing the crime scene in his hometown of Tuscaloosa, where a group of protesters had inflated the balloon for a demonstration at Monnish Park.

That just steams me......the street punks can maim and injure those that don’t agree with them while police are told to stand down and this guy is charged with a felony???? Something is very wrong with this picture (or puncture)........
I just wish he had torn the balloon to shreds- and i still think he should claim self defense- claiming the balloon attacked him first-

I would have left it alone. The balloon is an incredibly lame “protest” that shows the left as the unimaginative snowflakes they are.
Gutfeld had a good comment on the media regarding this incident (paraphrasing): deflating a balloon is a “knifing” but a bunch of thugs assaulting people is “fighting hate”.

Apparently because a knife was involved I guess? If so- what about farmers that cut hay bale strings to feed their cows- will they be felons too for using a knife and ‘assaulting hay bales’?
I use a pocket knife every time I put out a round bale. Maybe the guy should have used a cigarette lighter to pop the balloon....

I agree, it was a dumb thing to do. Even though I think the charges are to much for what he did, he did break the law and destroy property.
GFM claims the money can’t be used for criminal acts- so they are shutting it down- since when is getting money for a lawyer a criminal act? And they have already condemned the man as a criminal apparently- but when a liberal is involved i n things- they get all bent out of shape and declare “ALLEGED”- and justify the gathering of money claiming ‘innocent until proven guilty’ -double standards!
