I might have agreed 4 decades ago, but I voted for this asshole twice. Later I realized just how bad he was. To date, he is still the worst ex President ever.

Even The Zero or the Creepy Rhodes Scholar are not as vocal about BS as is this Peanut Farmer.

It just doesn’t seem like he is one of the corrupt ones.

'lusting for women in their heart with a wife at home'

So: you've never done that? Or would you just never honestly admit it?

Carter may not have been the 'brightest bulb on the tree', but when an old man is dying, it's a good idea to be gracious.

Someday, you are going to be there. And you have no idea how far you may fall between now, and then.

Maybe a ‘decent’ person but definitely proof that a mixture of

Caspar Milquetoast (the man who speaks softly and gets hit with a big stick).
&
Alfred E Neuman (What. Me Worry?)

doesn’t belong in High Office.

He used to make a reallllly big Egalitarian Deal about him being the Prez who carried his own luggage:

Years later the Secret Service revealed they always had empty luggage on hand specifically for the press photos, and the microsecond they weren’t around Carter’s luggage was always carried FOR him, just like all the others.

I don’t think so, either.

I’m not Jewish, but I pray for Israel and her people every day. He was not a friend of Israel, and I cannot forgive him for that. About the only thing he ever accomplished in his life was building homes for the poor. The government’s been doing that a lot longer than he ever did.

It soundsl like he does not have long to live. So I'll say he served honorably in the Navy and did good with Habitat for Humanity.

"I was born when Truman was president but the first one I remember is Ike."

Same here...1947. I remember Ike too. "I like Ike." I remember Adali Stevenson too, running for President on the Democrat ticket. My Dad was an FDR Democrat. Came here as a little boy from Holland with his parents and two brothers in 1914. He worked on the New York Central Railroad for over 50 years, and belonged to the Union, so of course he was a Democrat. If he were alive today, he would not recognize the Democrat party at all.

“Reagan freed up people, and Carter did his best to see them beaten down.

Good man?

By no stretch of the imagination...”

Bingo. Carter was a lousy President, and that is an understatement. He loosened up our immigration laws to let a bunch of third world country immigrants into ours, especially Haitians. He changed the immigration quotas away from European countries so that people primarily of our country’s own immigration heritage mostly ceased, and thus started the influx of immigrants from poor peasant underdeveloped third rate countries into ours.

Hence the beginning of the major change in our country’s demographics, to our detriment as a cohesive cultural identity as Americans. Now we are entirely Balkanized, and we all know the horrific political consequences of it. Thanks, Peanut Man. Thanks for nothing.

Concur. If anything Jimmy has become a more vociferous enemy of Israel than when he was president. It would be a tough race between Jimmy and Barack (he who snubbed Netanyahu and signed the bad Iran nuke deal) as to which did more damage to Isreal.

There is no question he was the worst President of my lifetime, but that his failures led to election of the greatest President of my lifetime - RR.

I never bought his humble peanut farmer act, and the sunday school teacher bit doesn’t do much for me either.

Who of sufficient age cannot forget brother Billie, the beer swilling buffoon or Secretary of Agriculture Butts
= = = = = = = = = = =

Don’t forget Halderman and Hamilton Jordan....two clowns that spent a lot of drunk nights in DC harassing the ladies.

I think it was Tip O’Neil that said - when asked by JC what to do with the duo, Tip basically said he should ship their asses back to Georgia...

Also, don’t forget Mama Lillian Carter and sister Ruth..

Could probably pass as a disfunctional family and got wealth and fame in spite of it
