What would be needed to fix this, would be to also decree that no one could be prosecuted or sued for using deadly force on a burglar.

Then have a bunch of burglars get killed.

Instead, it was a conversation he had with a police officer who viewed the footage of the break-in, who told him that he recognized the person in the video and that he had been arrested multiple times, Martin said.

“As a business owner,” Martin said, “that’s just really hard to hear.”

If it is this bad now, wait until San Francisco's new DA really gets going! Chesa Boudin says; "We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes. Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc., should not and will not be prosecuted.”

Is retail ownership still legal and is property crime still a crime? Past experience with the LEFT leaves that a question mark!

imagined san francisco liberal response

san francisco capitalism is the cause of san francisco secondary effects such as poverty, including burglary, homelessness, drug use, vandalism, and littering.

to solve the problem, taxes on san francisco business owners must be increased to eliminate poverty and homelessness in san francisco. wealth must be redistributed for social justice and an equitable solution to san francisco poverty.

It’s stories like this which truly illustrate just how bad the drug problem is in California. In this case it is obvious that the owner was TOTALLY WASTED when he thought opening a business in San Francisco was a good idea

True. Liberal policies in San Francisco such as this and increased taxes on businesses to benefit homeless are causing an outflow of businesses from San Francisco. I'm in South San Francisco, a different city in a different county a dozen miles south of SF, and we're seeing a major expansion of businesses moving here. Latest is Stripe, second most valuable startup in the country with a $35 billion valuation and 1000 employees moving to a business park here in SSF, and out of SF.

This influx of new employees is causing a building boom here in high-rise housing and more traffic, creating friction with current residents who don't want rapid growth. We don't have the liberal policies, crime and homeless, and don't want it here in SSF.

I went to a doughnut shop early one morning and refused to side-step crap piles to actually enter. Sorry for the owner, but I won’t be back.

Right!?? And having to hose off the sidewalks repeatedly, worry about nutcase mentally ill or drugged up homeless people harassing customers, worry about some lawsuit from the city about the plates you use are 1/4 inch too big or something, worry about the city figuring you are a good target for some new tax scheme, just because you are a small business.... etc. Very, very risky situation to make a long-term business succeed. JMHO
