Meat factories can still chop the heads off chickens, right?

So long as it’s quick & clean, that wouldn’t be considered torture or prolonged suffering. The little I know about this ban, I support it.

There is a difference between slaughtering for food purposes vs slaughtering for someone’s sadistic pleasure, or allowing an animal in one’s care to suffer due to the owner’s negligence or lack of compassion.

I support some wild horses to be sold as food, but they should be transported with care, not dumped like firewood into some trailer and just carted along in great discomfort and stress.

Like college dorms. No fowl play allowed.

Sure, death is ok, just no serious injury.

Too bad this won't apply to conservative Americans, or those Antifa protesters would be too scared to do their mayhem.

find someone that is cruel to animals and you find the person willing to do anything in the pursuit of power... a good man abhors the sight of senseless cruelty those that are lesser ignore it when confronted with its reality and evil takes pleasure in the thought of committing it.

god bless all that realize this truth.

Take care here, laws on pets (cruelty, dog or cock fighting, etc.) are already in place on this.

Goodby to hunting, fishing, trapping, rodent poisoming.

Creeping gradualism in elevation of animals to God-like status, eventually. More PETA bullying.

Can I shoot squirrels chewing into my gables and destroying my attic? Or will I be forced to pay an arm and a leg for a licensed exterminator? Huh?

The problem is the definition of cruel varies from individual to individual

To some people who think eating meat is wrong there is no way to kill an animal they won’t count as cruel

The part that could be bothesome in this bill is this:
"“(A) depicts animal crushing"
"depicts" such as movies and/or animation?

“(d) Exceptions.—
“(1) IN GENERAL.—This section does not apply with regard to any conduct, or a visual depiction of that conduct, that is—
“(A) a customary and normal veterinary or agricultural husbandry practice;
“(B) the slaughter of animals for food;
“(C) hunting, trapping, fishing, predator control, or pest control;
“(D) medical or scientific research; or
“(E) necessary to protect the life of person or property of a person from a serious threat caused by an animal.

It seems to me that this would fit the constitutional definition of being a State Issue.
