Obama to 2020 Democrat: Biden "really doesn't have it"

Former President Obama reportedly told a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate that his former Vice President Joe Biden doesn't have what it takes to win the Oval Office.

Obama, 58, has remained relatively quiet during the first part of the Democratic primary; however, he has met with many of the candidates privately. In one particular meeting, the former president took a dig at his own vice president, according to Politico.

"With one candidate, he pointed out that during his own 2008 campaign, he had an intimate bond with the electorate, especially in Iowa, that he no longer has. Then he added, 'And you know who really doesn’t have it? Joe Biden,'" Ryan Lizza reported.

The former president's dig stands in stark contrast to the relationship Biden has depicted during his campaign. Biden, who has repeatedly stated that he doesn't want Obama's endorsement because whoever wins the primary "should win it on their own merits,” has frequently referenced his time working within the Obama White House.

The former vice president cites the Obama administration's record on healthcare as well as on the economy frequently. However, he has also been faced at times with difficult questions from his time in office. During multiple presidential debates this fall, Biden took heat from rival candidates for both relying on Obama's legacy when it suits him and for distancing himself from it when it was more beneficial for him.

There is a precedent for former presidents to hold out endorsing their second-in-command’s subsequent White House bids. Ronald Reagan did not endorse George H. W. Bush's candidacy in 1988 until it was clear who the GOP nominee would be. Then, there was the 1968 Democratic presidential campaign in which Lyndon B. Johnson declined to offer a robust endorsement of Hubert Humphrey until a little more than a month before the general election.

The former Usurper picked Joe Biden precisely because NO ONE wanted him to end up President.

What a back stabber. Whatever you think of Biden he was always a loyal soldier to Obama. This is the left.

For those who weren’t around to remember...Johnson didn’t run for reelection in ‘68 because he was deeply unpopular. He did Humphrey a favor by not endorsing him.

Obama hid the underlying problem the Dems had that was obvious since the Clinton years.... because he was melaninated, he got turnout and support that hid the D’s big long term problem.. that combined with Anger over the Bush years put him in office, and a very weak GOP challenger in 12 kept him in office.

Obama is the only President that I know of that won re-election by FEWER votes than they won their first term with... GOP should have been able to take him out.. but they didn’t.. But I digress.

The reality is Democrats abandoned the working class white vote in the 90s.... the 2000 election was the warning call.. they ignored it... Had the Dems held WV, FL would not have mattered and Gore would have been president... but instead of realizing and admitting they were on a bad long term course, they just kept at it....

OBama hid the problem for 8 years, but 16 it was no longer able to be hidden.. even though they refused to see it, and to this day still can’t seem to come to grips with it.

The biggest voting block Dems have are white working class voters, yet they have been attacking them and angering and abandoning them, and blaming them for everything for decades.... In attempts to get more votes from other groups.. thinking this group would just stay loyal.... They learned the hard way, you can only piss on a mans leg and tell him its rain for so long before he punches you in the mouth.

We really should be asking ourselves why he doesn’t want Biden to be President. He must have a reason. To not endorse your two term VP? Doesn’t make sense. To stay quiet is one thing. But to undermine him is another all together.

“The former Usurper picked Joe Biden precisely because NO ONE wanted him to end up President.”

An “insurance policy,” to use a recent, infamous phrase.

Joe Biden will never be President.

He was chosen as a VP specifically for his universal repugnance to both sides of the isle. Nobody wants this dink in charge.

Obama, always served Obama... period. The people around him (his puppet masters) played the real politics, but Obama... he was a small petty man, who simply served his own whims...

I wonder if this will be the Kiss of Death for Biden’s campaign, or if Obama is increasingly Yesterday’s News even with the Left.

Sadly I know more than a few Obama voters in 2008 who openly said, they are likely going to assassinate Obama anyway if he wins, then Biden will be president, so I’ll vote for him.

Democrats always pick ne’er-do-wells for VP.

Clinton picked Gore.

Kerry picked John Edwards.

Obama picked Biden.

Hilliary picked Tim Kaine...................
