The National Assembly of France on Tuesday evening approved a historic resolution stating that anti-Zionism is like a new and modern form of anti-Semitic hatred of the Jewish people.

The approval came after a number of rejections and a heated public debate surrounding the proposal.

French MP Meyer Habib presented the position of his party, the Union of Democrats and Independents, during the arguments for and against the law.

In a poignant speech, Habib reiterated the connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel over the years and explained why the approval of the proposal is important, not just to the person who is Jewish.

"French policy in the fight against anti-Semitism is a failure. There are outbreaks of anti-Semitic attacks. Twelve French people have been murdered for being Jews since 2003. Half of France's racist acts have been committed against Jews, even though they account for less than one percent of the population. Faced with this urgent [problem], there have been a lot of speeches, but few acts," Habib stated.

The French can’t make mud out of sand. It’s all pretense and show. But usually, it’s the opposite pretense and show. That they are actually proclaiming that anti-Zionism is a form of anti-Semitism, no qualifications, no hedging, is as wondrous as pigs flying. I wouldn’t say that without qualifications, but here we are.

What can you do? Their heads are stuck up their arses like champagne corks, wired down and covered with foil to make it look good. Very hard to remove it, and if agitated, upon removal an explosion might occur. And this metaphor has gotten way out of control.

I don’t think you understand. No strong candidate is going to waste their time and no one is going to waste their money donating to republican candidates in San Francisco, Santa Monica or New York. I think you probably don’t understand the dynamics too well.

Under normal circumstances, you'd be right. But this election year, I think it can be done. When you have a totally dysfunctional Democratic incumbent, a strong Republican can win. That's what gave NYC two terms of Rudy Giuliani, a legendary mayor who replaced a mediocrity. This coming year, you have a dysfunctional mayor in NYC, DiBlasio. You have a dysfunctional Congresswoman, AOC, who is only good at making a spectacle of herself and chasing away billion-dollar business from her district. Likewise, in San Francisco you have a dysfunctional, ineffective Congresswoman who's about to lose her speaker-ship. In Santa Monica, you have this psychotic bug-eyed weasel who's just acted the fool repeatedly on national TV, and has no self-awareness whatever. Under these circumstances, with the right people, anything is possible, because the Democrats have totally discredited themselves and mis-played the very hefty hand that was dealt them in 2018. 2020 will be the year that elephants can fly, and even crows will vote for them.
