Had the Democrats controlled the Senate he wouldn’t have gotten in. That is the point.

Interestingly, when the GOP controlled the Senate they were very accommodating to Obama outside of Garland. 12 GOP Senators voted to confirm communist voting Brennan, they greased the Obama-Corker Iran deal, etc. The fact is Trump has had a far harder time with his MAGA nominees than any Democrat under a GOP controlled Senate has ever had.

“Right now there are 23 judges on the Senate floor ready for cloture to be invoked, two of whom are 9th court circuit judges”

Is that the notorious left coast court usually referred to as The Ninth Circuit?

That's good news, what is the ratio there now, and what will it be when the next 2 are put in?

TIA

49-44 vote, Hadley for her and Susan Collins against. I know nothing about this gal but she must be pretty good.

“So you’re admitting there’s not a dimes worth of difference between Collins and a Democrat on the coup? At least we are getting somewhere...Regardless, good to have these Trump judges confirmed.”

We’ll see. So far I haven’t heard Collins say anything about voting for conviction, but I can PROMISE you that any Democrat that replaces her will vote that way.

Glad we agree on the judges, that tells me that you’re not trolling (I didn’t suspect it anyway). But there are lots of Dems out there, all over the place that claim to be Republicans fed up with Trump. It’s a great way to troll. I even trolled the Dems in the 2016 election by saying that I was going to vote for Jill Stein...and people bought it!

Not tired of winning yet. In fact, I’m looking forward to another Supreme Court Justice and the 2020 elections.

This is how you respond to the impeachment dumpster fire.

Best to keep stupid people in the House busy while actual work gets done.

The House is not getting its job done while they keep up the clown show. The FY20 budget still has not been passed, and we are almost at the end of the first quarter. Another government shutdown will loom right around Christmas--but the left doesn't care about that, or about the people who are hurt by their failure to pass a budget. There is legislation they are neglecting, as well, but that is not nearly as important as the budget.

I'm glad the Senate is keeping busy. At least it's doing the work of the people.

Collins won my admiration for her reasoned defense of Judge Kavanaugh. And I happen to be pro-choice! Bottom line, we are hanging on to the rule of law vs mob rule by one Presidential election. The only man I thought could beat the mob was a man like Trump, utterly fearless about being “pc” and a black belt in the Art of War.

I was just shuffling through the deck and was amazed to find that there are no judges on the Senate floor from California except the two circuit court nominees from the 9th Circuit.

California Eastern District just put out a cry for help as has NJ (see below)
Meanwhile there are 13 California nominees stuck at the Judicial committee level, several since 2/19 and 6 NJ open seats w/o nominees.

Additionally both California East & NJ want to add positions but “politics” has stymied those efforts(see article). When the two most senior justices in East Ca retire after the first of the year there is going to be pandemonium. President Trump may get to fill a whole bunch of new seats in Leftist enclaves.

https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/california/articles/2019-10-22/california-district-faces-shortage-of-federal-judges

and

https://www.law360.com/articles/1140100/as-judicial-ranks-stagnate-desperation-hits-the-bench
(excerpt)Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill sent a letter Friday to the White House and Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, warning that criminal cases may have to be dismissed due to an inability to comply with the Speedy Trial Act.

Last week, the Judicial Conference of the United States recommended Congress add 73 permanent judgeships to 27 courts across the country. The request would nearly double the six-person bench of California’s Eastern District by creating five additional judgeships.

Those additions are necessary, Judge O’Neill said. He works a 14-hour day that begins at 4 a.m. He’s served on the Eastern District’s bench for 20 years, and when he retires next year, he won’t maintain a caseload, because he’s too exhausted.

By February 2020, both he and his colleague, U.S. District Judge Morrison England, will have retired. Last June, every judge in the Eastern District signed a letter to lawmakers warning without replacements, the workload there would escalate from “crisis” to “catastrophe.”

“The huge stress that is being put on district judges has a consequence beyond major,” Judge O’Neill told Law360.

"... two of whom are 9th court circuit judges."

That is America's problem district where the whiners/snowflakes go first. On the up side, I recently read where Pres. Trump has turned 3 Appeals districts Constitutional. If he were to lose in 2020, I'd just be happy he and the Turtle have installed life-long Constitutional judges in so many districts.

I don’t get nearly as excited over district court positions as I do Circuit Court......but 5 more confirmed is a nice win. I’ll take it. Keep pushing them through Turtle.

Ah, at the LEAST, she voted for Kavanough and will likely vote for Trump’s next SC pick.

I KNOW we should expect a lot more but I don’t know that state too well.

Would she win on a solidly conservative platform?
