As a result of a number of proposed anti-gun bills in Virginia, many of its cities and counties have declared themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries. However, one county went above and beyond by passing a Militia Resolution.
This resolution codifies the establishment and maintenance of a de facto militia in Tazewell county.
Firearms News reached out to the Tazewell councilman Thomas Lester, who is also a professor of American History and Political Science.
Lester argued, “Declaring our county a Second Amendment Sanctuary is a great first step, however, Virginia is unique because of its constitution. Under Article 1 section 13 of the VA Constitution, VA must maintain a well-regulated militia composed of its people to validate its authority.”

County militia units with elected officers were the rule in the colonies and later the States even in to the un-civil war.
Think the Dick Act basically drove a stake through the heart of that.

I hereby declare the following Wisconsin Counties to be Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties!
Columbia, Dodge, Jefferson, Rock, Green, Iowa and Sauk Counties
These are the counties that surround Dane County - home to, ‘The People’s Republik of Madistan’ - who think they run our entire state!

They have to please Bloomberg for his donations, but I think the left has been scared off from anything substantial.
SB 16 hasn’t been pulled.
They’re going to try to pass it all.
Our only hope is that there still a few sane Democrats.

The militia should be armed with everything the regular military has.
