Nothing GOP lawmakers in Frankfort can do about it. The pardoning power is absolute

...long as the proper process was followed. IIRC, in many States (this being one?), they have to petition the gov. for their pardon.

Was this just a blanket pardon (some shill hands him a list & ‘presto’...done)? or were those done on the up-n-up & only have a *real* SUCKY POS ex-gov?

[Sour grapes. He didn’t have to upset our side.]

This is Bevin doing his Samson act. Because Republicans couldn’t drag this political retard across the finish line despite Herculean efforts, including a personal Trump appearance, he has decided to try to ruin the GOP brand in KY. Bevin has made plain what many merely suspected - that he’s a major league dirtbag.

“Bevin upset too many conservative voters but there’s a lesson here for them: Democrats don’t represent you, your values and your interests.”

Because releasing violent criminals onto the streets to teach them that lesson DOES represent their values and interests?

This man is better suited for prison or the electric chair than he is for Governor.

I’m a Commonwealth of KY voter, Bevin was the best governor in the Midwest. My teacher friends sent me this article and several others to justify their Beshear vote. What I found is that there was no physical evidence. This guy was convicted on the middle schooler’s testimony.

My link to the article no longer works because it was back in the 90s, but 3 middle school girls ruined a teachers life and love for teaching by lying. They lied for 2 years until the trial started, then one of them recanted. An additional 2.5 years of maturity made her realize what she had done.
BTW the other 2 girls recanted also.

They “made up” the story because they “felt” the teacher was showing favoritism to other students.

In those 2 years before trial start, the school system rightfully fired the teacher because charges had been brought against him. His wife divorced him, Div judge refused visitation rights for the safety of the children, his church threw him out based on the accusation.

And there is no path for restitution of your name, lost wages or a job you loved.

Gov elect Beshear has already stated he will provide voting rights to felons, yes murders, rapists, etc.

This is not isolated, I’ve got a similar incidence of a subordinate’s brother who went through 3 years of hell with a child molestation charge, from a cousin’s daughter, until it was decided that their where too many inconsistencies in the child’s story.

That’s in the anti-corruption training. I think if people are aware of the tricks used for bribery and blackmail a lot of it could be avoided. Of course, we’ll never know for sure since they will never develop an in-depth anti-corruption course and mandate all government employees and elected officials take it.

Bevin, who defended himself in a lengthy tweetstorm Friday, called the accusation “highly offensive and entirely false.”

“We are blessed to be Americans, living in a land that offers the possibility of a second chance for those who have ruined their first one,” he posted.

500 though?

I can see why he disliked all around.
