Mark Levin talked about it some time ago. The statute says nothing about being able to remain anonymous.

When a whistleblower files a complaint he may ASK to remain anonymous. And that's okay unless there's a good reason for him NOT to remain anonymous. And I think that being the basis for a call for impeachment of the President of the United States is sufficient reason to know his identity.

And in my gut, we're going to find that this person is closely aligned with James Comey. The MO is identical to Comey and his leaks.

It’s about protecting whistleblowers against retaliation.

Were whistleblowers to be allowed anonymity, it would become a shitstorm of false allegations.
