Who starts the criminal trial, the judge or the prosecutor? When is the prosecutor done with the case?
That rough outline is the same in impachment. The House is charging, the Senate is trying. When does the Senate become engaged? Is it supposed to go fetch articles? Is it supposed to argue the case to itself?
she has to inform the senate who the house managers are. They present the case for impeachment in the trial in the senate
She DID inform the Senate. She informed all Americans. Senators are Americans. When impeachment laws and rules were established, there wasn’t 24/7 media, and instant information.
Mitch can begin the trial. She can make a presentation for impeachment or not. Her choice. Maybe she’ll decide to take her dollies and go home and pout.
