The U.S. military is pouring troops into the Middle East as it prepares to deal with fallout from the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Soleimani was killed by U.S. forces on January 3, 2020. Iran and Iranian-backed militias throughout the region have promised revenge for the attack on one of Iran’s most senior military figures. In response, the Pentagon is flowing ground, air, and sea forces into the area, including Army Rangers and Super Hornet strike fighters.
The buildup actually began on December 31, 2019, when protests organized by Iranian-backed militias threatened the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. U.S. Central Command deployed Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Forces Crisis Response—Central Command (SPMAGTF CR-CC), a company of approximately 100 Marines and MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft designed to provide a quick reaction force for U.S. forces and facilities throughout the region.

i’ve actually seen a fight at a club on Staten Island where an idiot Italian was waving a gun in front of a nightclub and a paesano came up behind him with a bat and cancelled Christmas on the guy with the gun.

It's not that they can't do anything. We are operating in an area where they have the ability to attack us. Ship's and aircraft in the Persian Gulf, bases in Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar. All can be attacked with weapons that can be difficult to stop 100%. The question is if they are willing to absorb the massive damage we would bring with our retaliation. Don't assume our bases, ships and aircraft are invincible. But Khamenei has to know, Trump isn't bluffing.

The high value targets are Iran’s nuclear facilities. Those would go, and the naval facilities that they use for causing trouble in the Gulf. I seriously doubt that we would want to wipe out their government because unlike Dubya’s crowd no one else lives in fantasyland where you can magically transform an ancient muslim society into America.
