It would be cool if the pitcher and catcher exchanged pitch type and location with a device they both wear on their wrists. Just push two buttons. That technology might just stop this type of cheating.
We’ll know for sure once we see their batting averages drop this season. Same thing was true for the guys taking steroids who collapsed, like Jason Giambi
The pitcher does decide what to throw. What happens is that the catcher signals the pitch to the pitcher and the pitcher either agrees or shakes it off until the catcher signals the pitch that the pitcher wants to throw.
Stealing signs is not against the rules as long as it isn't done by artificial means (i.e., camera, binoculars, technology). Batters and runners on second base have been known to steal signals. However, there is an unwritten rule that states if a player is caught stealing signs, someone on his team is going to get beaned with a fastball.

What is preventing the Astros (or anybody else) from wearing a wire "this season"?
How would they stop it?
Add to that, none of the players have been punished and they feel protected by the players union.
So why wouldn't they keep on doing it?
