In your points, it also makes sense that the VP not be a controlling vote in the process - if he’s considered nd opponent, he’s pre-biased.

I am hearing that if we do have witnesses that the Democrats will try to extend this fiasco forever.***** Yes. We need to not even have a vote on witnesses. If we do, that shows that the dems run the senate.
Partner, this Sham Impeachment trial by "Schiff for Brains" first started with Russian Collusion and then over the Quid Pro Quo thing in Ukraine.
We know for a fact that the DemonRat Party want President Trump out but there will be no witnesses coming up, period, and end of story.
This trial is really so boring and Romney is a very vindictive person. Lindsay Graham will not vote for more witnesses, since he knows he will be toast come this November.
Murkowski and Collins will also vote for no more witnesses.
President Trump will be exonerated since this "Schiff for Brains" and the rest of the DemonRat party wants to misinterpret the Constitution of the U.S.A. since you can not impeach a POTUS on executive privilege.

I propose the following:
1) Before consideration of calling additional witnesses, McConnell should count votes for a resolution on whether the “charges” rise to the level of impeachable offenses under the Constitution. This bears on Constitutional standards and affects future impeachments where Dems might be the defendants. It’s not the same as a political vote for or against Trump.
2) If he can round up a majority for “No”, put up the resolution, vote on it.
3) Once that passes, there is no reason for additional witnesses, so that issue is moot.
4) Next resolve to dismiss the case, since the Senate has already declared the charges to fall below Constitutional requirements.

Partner, the Republican Senate needs a pair of real Gonads to not have witnesses or they will be gone and the 2020 Election is only 9 months away.
The DemonRat party wants to extend this sham Impeachment trial.
We have discovered that this sham Impeachment Trial was started by the NY Slimes and Washington Compost since these two (2) papers are the MSM and they are controlling the DemonRat party right now and the MSM wants to control the world. Let me say this again the MSM is a bunch of "Giant Sixth Grade Brains MSM" and the end of story.
Alan Dershowitz has said that the charges are not Impeachment Offenses. The DemonRat party started with Collusion and then it went to Quid Pro Quo. Now it is President Trump's conduct and behavior are Impeachment Offenses. We say a big "Bravo Sierra."
