Trump more popular in Utah than Romney, as senator weighs impeachment

The politics of Utah Sen. Mitt Romney’s 11th-hour mystery on how he will vote on President Trump’s impeachment has become sticky now that a new survey finds that the president is more popular in Utah.

The Utah Policy survey showed that for the first time since his election, a majority of Utah voters approve of Trump’s job performance, echoing his surge in national surveys.

According to the poll analysis, “The survey, conducted for UtahPolicy.com and 2 News by Y2 Analytics shows 52% of likely voters approve of President Trump, while 45% disapprove, giving the president a net-positive approval rating of +7.”

The same outfit in October found Romney’s job approval underwater, at 46%-51%.

“That is not good,” said the analysis.

And Romney's lower-than-Trump's approval ratings were BEFORE his Wednesday 'Biblical' vote ('Biblical' as in 'Judas-like').

Romney 05Feb2020: "I sought to hear testimony from John Bolton, not only because I believed he could add context to the charges, but also because I hoped that what he might say could raise reasonable doubt and thus remove from me the awful obligation to vote for impeachment."

Only John Bolton could have provided clarification that might raise reasonable doubt in his mind. In the absence of the Bolton testimony any reasonable doubt he might have harbored was removed.

Conclusion: If you're on trial for murder, be sure Romney isn't one of your jurors if your evil step sisters are not called upon to testify in your defense.

Anyone who’s been to Utah and Nevada (count me as a frequent enthusiastic visitor) knows there are two different versions of conservatism and Donald Trump will always resonate more with plan A than plan B (plan A being Nevada for those really slow on the uptake).

In a state where casinos are verboten and even coffee shops are somewhat less than universal, I’m guessing that Trump can be easy to look down on there in Utah (life elevated etc).

But at end of the day, most other than Mittens will see that their values are better represented by Trump than anyone that the other party might raise up for their consideration.

I hope there isn’t another Egg McMuffin moment in our future. What’s the point of rolling the dice with communism by having a feel-good essentially meaningless vote drainer on the ballot?

Trump should go to SLC or maybe St George to have a faster exit, and give a friendly speech (”I don’t blame any of this on you”) and maybe show a flash of humility, then move on.

Mittens will end up looking like an idiot, trying to pass off his guilty conscience (re Burisma) as a high-minded moment of service to God. If it’s the same God (and I am one who thinks it is) then he should know better than to pass off his self-serving and odious conduct in that way.

We shall see where things stand in 2021 and beyond. Or perhaps the Senator will reconsider and do a bit of humble retraction himself. It would look better on him than a second-hand clown suit that Nancy gave him.

Romney just signaled that he is a much better Mormon than all of those Mormon MAGA rubes back in Utah.

His speech was a slander on Mike Lee and any other Mormon senator that voted to acquit.

It was also a slander against all Mormons who opposed this witch hunt.

As a former Mormon, I think we cam thank Romney for shedding some light on the phony piety of many in authority in the Mormon church who thumb their noses at those they think are their lessors.

Romney is the Face of the Mormon Church and is, in fact, the Defacto President of the Mormon Church. He is their most visible missionary.

He makes it known to all that he is a genuine “Temple Worthy” Mormon who will some day be exalted to be the Jehovah of his own planetary system where he can procreate his own planet by engaging in sexual relations with the countless women that he will physically marry in his Celestial Kingdom.

He has exalted himself as god. The fact of the matter is that he has debased himself. He is as phony as the prophets he worships.

If any person in charge, in business or government,
1. gets bad advice and considers acting on it, but
2. later changes his mind and "does the right thing"
does that mean that person must be fired or removed from office just for originally considering an action later not taken?

That apparently is what traitor Romney was proposing (along with the demon Dems).
