including clean syringes and glass pipes

The fact that they included pipes tells all you need to know. Go into any party store and you will dozens of cheap pipes. Drugs are a weapon of choice for the father of lies.

The New Haven Green is already an open air drug supermarket and hosted a mass overdose event in the summer of ‘18. Panhandlers line the sidewalks at major intersections. Junkies mingle around the methadone clinic copping benzos. The hospital EDs are overrun w/drug and alcohol patients. But they have a bike share program!

I’m assuming that they did not consult with all two dozen of the Republicans that live in New Haven.

Having dealt with immediate family members hooked on drugs, I speak from experience.

How about trying tough love.

Tough love doesn't work on people physically and physiologically hooked on these drugs.

For those who willingly snort or swallow or shoot up drugs, just let them O.D. on the streets.

So you would let your son or daughter die on the street after your tough love failed? Really ?

Why should hardworking taxpayers be enablers for their filthy habits?

Personally, I don't think we should, but would you rather pony up for some needles and treatment or prison ?

Why not give out notebook computers to Yale students?

Why bother? The rate of those actually helped by treatment is about 1 to 2%. Check this out in California, they have been sending people to rehab for years, some people have been at least 12 times and still did not help. Rehab is only effective if you really want help.

That always works out SO well!

We have an ‘urgent care’ facility downtown, close to all the (now partially empty, thanks to True-dope) oil company towers, and numerous seniors buildings in the beltline.

Several years ago, the Province decided to open a ‘safe injection site’ beside this facility for drugged up street people. Now, at the waiting room by the entrance, two Alberta Sheriffs and two private security guards are stationed 24/7. In addition, 90% of the time, there is one or more cop cars and two (or more) cops dealing with homeless druggies outside the facility.

The net result is that at night (and often during the day), almost EVERYONE requiring ‘urgent care’ with transportation, goes to a regular hospital Emergency ward. By having the ‘shooting gallery’ next to the ‘urgent care’ facility, instead of relieving the crush on the health care system, it is ADDING to it.

Socialists seem to have a limited ability to think.

Most people can’t keep one of their adult kids in the house during a hard drug addiction. The young person, if really addicted to something hard, is going to run at some point.

But here is something that can be done for those who aren’t useless cowards. First, keep a line of communication open, so open that your grown up kid will call when paranoid to the point of being afraid. Be ready to leave the house at a moment’s notice and ready for action. Be ready to do it all on your own, if your kid is a woman coveted by gangsters and corrupt, Slobovian, local officials.

When that call comes, go and demand that your child come home with you right then. Confront the dealers in front of your kid, but be prepared in every way for a fight with men who are armed and laying in wait. That leaves an impression, if your kid has enough of a soul left at that point in time.

It might save your kid and mean the difference between a lifelong addiction and misery for the whole family, or it might not. But would you rather be free or be slaves to the locals who are owned by a cartel?

That said, drug dealers should be put to death. Addicts who don’t redeem themselves or get rescued by their own family members before being caught should be put in concentration camps. It’s time to show the worst kinds of opportunists what a real war on drugs is.

"Why bother? The rate of those actually helped by treatment is about 1 to 2%."

That's no surprise with a bunch of damned addicts and dealers running the expensive treatment facilities and doing the advising. They make excuses for the drug abuse and promote it. Anyone who runs a thorough search of the Net and reads enough of the bad advice can see that.

Better they should poison the dope that they capture and release it to the streets. Drug abuse is a CHOICE. Bad choices can kill you.
