To your point, not only Lyme Disease started out near Plum Island, but so did West Nile Encephalitis...
Personally, I think that could have come via airplanes. A plane need only fly through a patch of mosquitoes on its way from Africa, they wash off in the rain at JFK airport... voila...

Well of course it came from the laboratory. Not so sure about the “leak” part, though.
I think everyone believes that it leaked from Wuhan bio weapons lab (or it was set free on purpose). Is it “flu”? They call it just coronavirus. Very few facts and statistics, just hype and panic. For example, how deadly is it? Percentage of those who get it and those who die? Do they die due to lack of diagnosis? Lack of treatment? Or are people in treatment likely to recover, or die?

This is because China is not allowing information out, nor medical experts to visit Hubei. There may well be, as reported by some, over 100,000 deaths by now. With more to come.
We may never find out the real statistics until after the communist party no longer rules.
And boy has it spread here in southern New England.
I have heard of many cases here in coastal Mass. south of Boston and personally know 2 people who have had it.
Because Lyme disease has sleeper cells, they can activate after the disease is cured, and a relapse occurs.
We have to expect countries to experiment with biological weapons'.

Dr. Sachun Lin is a “virus hunter” researcher who worked for the US Army Medical Research Center and examined the genome sequence for the Wuhan Covid-19 virus that was published by the Chinese. There are two very important proteins, the N1 protein and the spike (S) protein, that appeared to be suspicious in his opinion.
The N1 protein genome normally evolves as it jumps from bats to other animals or to humans. It determines the viruses “lethality” in the way that it randomizes the structure of quasi species of the daughter viruses to evolve into more infectious variants.
His examination showed that the genome in the Covid-19 is virtually identical with a known SARS bat N1 genome and did not appear to have evolved at all from its original sequence. He estimated the likelihood of this occurring “naturally” as 1:1,000,000,000. This strongly suggests it may have been developed for research purposes and skipped the normal evolutionary path that natural viruses undergo to cross species.
The Spike protein that allows the virus to bind to human cells also appears to have been genetically modified in 4 of its 5 amino acid receptors to fit into human cells. This also suggested to him that it was done intentionally to test a virus species with human cells in anticipation of developing a vaccine or treatment for a future potential outbreak.
His option is still not shared by a consensus of other scientists but it shows why it is necessary to do this at a world wide level with WHO and CDC participation.
