I suspect the Chinese are rooting for the Coronavirus, too.
They are in a demographic crisis. Decades of one-child policies has left them with too many men, too many old people and not enough workers.
Along comes a virus that only seems to kill men over the age of 55...
There was one time during the Cold War when a Soviet trawler (AGI, festooned with antennae rather than fishing nets) dazzled a US Navy helicopter pilot just of the coast of Washington state (likely snooping for signals from Bangor).
Sounds like an Nd-YAG laser. They are used for range finding and target acquisition.
I say dump the aircraft’s toilet on the deck and bridge of the Chinese ship.

The horrible truth is I got tired of gambling about 5 years ago. 5 dollars of any illegal drug would probably stop my fat heart and more than one woman would certainly bury me.

I used to live on a street in Saigon populated by North Vietnamese. Frequently, they would be cooking dog meat on small charcoal braziers; it smelled wonderful. I never tried it though, girl friend issue, same with snake. I had ground hog once in Hanoi - don’t recommend it.

The Chinese have been saturated by propaganda from the time they are born. The ultimate impact of that may be to weaken the government’s control over the military who have been taught they are perpetually at war with the US. At some point they will have one of those people in charge who has an attitude or ego issue such that he can’t really follow his orders over what the voice in his head is telling him. This is the problem with ideological indoctrination. The Chinese government has actually told their people to push situations with the US whenever they have the chance. This is why the Chinese boats “bump” other ships. This happened recently when an American ship had to take last minute evasive action to avoid multi-million dollar damage. These actions aren’t ordered by the government per se. They are part of the government’s indoctrination. Very, very dangerous.
You are wrong, IMHO...
Incidents like these can be intentionally provoked in order to gather important related electronic intelligence...
