For general information, it is useful to have recurring bills, such as utility, insurance, etc. drafted from your bank account and purchases put on one credit card which drafts from your bank acct monthly. Also this helps with bookeeping and taxes. Keep enough cash in your account to cover all this as well as a surplus for cash use. This is not always feasible for a number of reasons but this virus situation does emphasize the need to prepare for natural weather events and market downturns. It is somewhat reassuring to be a step or two ahead of calamity either natural or otherwise.

Excellent article! This is why I’ve stocked up as well. Every other country where this goes HAS instituted regional, local or even national quarantines. It’s folly to think that won’t happen here.

How do you know it’s worse? Because poor, malnourished Chinese people eating fish eyes, chicken guts and rotting snakes from an unmonitored “market” started getting sick?

Nothing is worse than Ebola. If Ebola were contagious, most of us would be dead in a matter of months. Thankfully, it’s infectious.

Coronaviruses by and large are not significantly lethal. The numbers in this outbreak bear that out. More people have had it and recovered than have died.

I’m not saying don’t take precaution and don’t take it seriously. But the sky isn’t falling. And with spring/summer approaching, this bug won’t have too much more time to last in the open air.
