he White House is willing to offer some military assistance to Turkey to assist an insurgency against neighboring Syria, which has received support from Russia and Iran, a senior U.S. diplomat said Tuesday.

James Jeffrey, who serves as both the State Department's special representative for Syria and the presidential envoy to the fight against the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) told reporters in Turkey's southern border province of Hatay that the Turkish forces "mainly use our equipment, we want to make sure the equipment is ready when they need to use it," according to Turkey's state-run Anadolu Agency.

"We're willing to provide—for example, the President [Donald Trump] mentioned this—ammunition," he said, Reuters reported.

In other words, we’ll sell the Turks as much ammo as they need. Which is reasonable, since they use mostly US spec ordnance.

Turkey is no friend of ours and should not be in NATO. They need an Ataturk, again.

I sure as hell hope President Trump doesn’t listen to the State Department saboteurs on this. We should NOT be supporting Islamist Turkey’s invasion and aggression against a neighboring country. It’s STUPID and SOUNDS VERY MUCH LIKE THE OBAMA/CLINTON/MCCAIN STRATEGY TO SUPPORT SYRIAN REBELS (aka SUNI Jihadis). That did not turn out well at all.

I wouldn’t mind being supplied some turkey. And you don’t need the military to give it to me.

Well, I suppose so since they are a NATO member and we probably cannot kick them out. Russia is still a problem and we need assess to the Black Sea.

BAB AL-HAWA BORDER CROSSING, Syria—As Turkey launches a military operation against the Syrian government, the U.S. is making a show of support for a NATO ally but stopping short of delivering weapons requested by Ankara. A group of senior U.S. officials in a visit to Turkey’s border Tuesday announced more than $100 million in new funding for United Nations aid programs providing food, blankets and other support to civilians in Syria. https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-offers-aid-not-missiles-as-turkey-pushes-back-syrian-forces-11583260392

Turkey, especially under Erdogan, are showing they want to de-stabilize Europe by sending the muslim hoards north through Greece. We should be smacking Erdogan not giving him ammo. Is this Fake news?

While we may be helping Turkey to use our equipment in order to get valuable weapons test data to improve our weapons I hope we find a way to shaft Turkey for the evil islamicists that they are.

This is not a good idea. Turkey is far from being any friend of the U.S. Aren’t they also giving refuge to a bunch of terrorists? This will not end well.

Yes, this is nuts. Assad may be the only sane person in that region. Why are we getting involved in these conflicts?

Bullcrap. Why would we fight on behalf of ISIS, protecting them from the Syrian government?

Will our planes get a black ISIS flag painted on the tailfin?

“Which is reasonable, since they use mostly US spec ordnance”

MS13 uses 9mm ammo, just like LAPD, should the police sell them some ammo? Turkey is attacking the Syrians for attacking ISIS and other rebels inside their own country.
