So far very few people have been exposed. Most of us are hoping to keep it that way.

There are 330 million Americans. How many have been exposed to the flu? How many have been exposed to CV? Think about it.

“We were all handed a one-way ticket the moment we were conceived.”

You’re right. We should all just stop wasting time and end it right now.

"Have you gotten your pneumonia and flu vaccines?"

I didn't know there is a vaccine against bacterial infections like "pneumonia". Isn't that what antibiotics are for?

“Yet South Korea has a 0.61% death rate. With A LOT more cases. Why?”

50 dead, 118 recovered. That’s a nearly 30% death rate. You don’t get to pad your stats with unresolved cases. Sure, the vast majority of the rest will recover, but they haven’t, yet. The death rate will drop from 30% substantially, and if every one of the confirmed cases recovers and they caught them all, it will get to that 0.61%. Which is still 6 times the average flu death rate.

How many people are exposed to the flu at least once in a flu season?

How many people have been exposed to the Wuhan virus in this, its inaugural season?

Think about it.

“Right now there are 437 confirmed cases, and 19 confirmed deaths. That’s a 4.3% mortality rate. That’s high. That’s lot more than a “few.”

That’s not how this works. Not even close.

I hope we Americans show the world that we’re not a bunch of snowflake sheeple afraid to go out, hoarding food, fighting over toilet paper, cancelling every concert and event, and instead look this overblown media created crisis head-on with a big FU.

Like every other media created crisis, this will end not with a boom but a wimper, and when it does I can’t wait to troll all the freepers who have been exposed as the snowflakes they really always are.

“Yet South Korea has a 0.61% death rate. With A LOT more cases. Why?”

S Korea has a head start on testing. With the number of people in the US in scattered locations just recently being diagnosed, I think there is little doubt the number of unknown cases is far greater. In the US, for the most part we’ve only tested the most suspicious cases. That’ll change rapidly over the next couple of weeks.

Pneumococcal Vaccination

Vaccines help prevent pneumococcal disease, which is any type of illness caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria.

There are two kinds of pneumococcal vaccines available in the United States:

Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine or PCV13
Pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine or PPSV23

CDC recommends PCV13 for all children younger than 2 years old and people 2 years or older with certain medical conditions. Adults 65 years or older also can discuss and decide, with their clinician, to get PCV13.

CDC recommends PPSV23 for all adults 65 years or older, people 2 through 64 years old with certain medical conditions, and adults 19 through 64 years old who smoke cigarettes.

Think about it.

In the spring of 2009, a novel influenza A (H1N1) virus emerged.

During it's inaugural season, CDC estimated there were 60.8 million cases, 274,304 hospitalizations, and 12,469 deaths in the United States due to the (H1N1)pdm09 virus.

Our President has the best doctors and scientists in the world advising him, and he indeed, isn't quarantining himself or his family.

Think about it.

I’m 66 and have never gotten the flu. I never got the mumps either, even though my mother had me sleep in the same room as my 2 sick brothers. However, I’ve had at least 4 bouts of bronchitis over my lifetime, which most ppl apparently never get. I’ve never gotten a flu shot and pry never will. Hubby is the same.

Wrong. No one calculates the death rate like you are doing. It’s utterly laughable.

“Our President has the best doctors and scientists in the world advising him, and he indeed, isn’t quarantining himself or his family.”

And he also has the best medical care in the world available to him, hands down, no debate. The likelihood that he would die from this is virtually zero. How ever, President Trump isn’t saying or doing anything different from what I am saying and doing. Don’t panic. Prepare and be vigilant.

BTW, how many years of supplies do you think are in the White House and various other stockpiles the upper echelons of the government have access to? All their prep is done. Trump saves more lives by preserving calm and order. Should the few predicting the end of the world, worst case scenario be correct, President Trump is still doing exactly what he should because it will save lives. He did not say ignore it and it will go away, he said don’t panic and take precautions.

I have thought about it.

“Wrong. No one calculates the death rate like you are doing. It’s utterly laughable.”

The mechanism you are using only applies after the fact, like, to last year’s flu. It doesn’t apply to an ongoing outbreak. There have been numerous examples and explanations posted here on FR.

Tell me, then, how many of the unresolved cases are going to resolve favorably (live)? All of them? Or none? Current proportions?

Your ignorance and cognitive dissonance don’t make me wrong.

And that laughter sounds a bit hysterical.

I’m laughing at your pathetic panic and your idea that the sky is falling. You absolutely are wrong I think the way you are attempting to pad the death rate. I’ll continue to mock you for it and there is nothing you can do about it. Doesn’t that just burn you up inside?

The likelihood that he would die from this is virtually zero.

Actually, if he caught it, the likelihood is at the high end, because of his age. But indeed, he also knows that the likelihood of anyone in this Country catching this, is very low.
