BTW, all the "shut-down" states so far are run by Democrat governors. It is not Trump who is shutting these states down and he doesn't have the Constitutional power to stop them.
On a positive note, I went out early this morning to get some groceries here in Southern Connecticut (a shut-down state as of yesterday). I expected a mob scene with near empty shelves but that was not the case at all!
Sure, it was crowded but there were ample supplies of everything, including toilet paper and paper towels (limit of two packages of each). Every single aisle was packed with boxes and employees were busy stocking shelves. This was the Caraluzzi's in Bethel and trucks were lined up waiting for their turn at the shipping docks. So our supply chain appears to be in full vigor. I also went to the Newtown Caraluzzi's and saw the same activity. Plenty of TP there as well. So now I have four 12-packs of TP that should last us well into the summer!
Also, people are very friendly and the workers there were in good spirits and glad to be helping the community get stocked up on food and supplies. Nothing like a crisis to bring Americans together. Maybe in the long run, we'll look back and consider all of this a character-building experience. It's actually not a good thing to go through life having no real hardship and always having your creature comforts attended to. As a culture, Americans were getting spoiled rotten and many of us were regressing to child-like behavior. Anybody who has raised children knows of what I speak.

The theory of a quarantine is that you may be willing to cheerfully expose yourself to a disease but it is not acceptable that you in turn expose your disease to people who may not want to expose themselves to it like you do.
I am sure that DEEP IN THE BOWELS of war rooms, game rooms or just govt rooms SOMEONE has ‘suggested’ ‘screw em, they will come out of it, survival of the fittest’ or some other such trivia.
Remember 25% unemployment STILL means 75% are employed.

We will be getting 100,000 NEW CASES reported daily as long as each state gets another 3 5 or 50 bucks per case.

AND, when ‘we’ catch them fudging figures, ‘they’ will say better be safe and up the # rather than lower it.

Note that Italy is going through 600 deaths a day from covid-19. Multiply that by 5, to size that number up to the US population and we’re looking at 3000 dead a day. With 7-1/2 months to go before Election Day, that’s over 500,000 dead by November, mostly Trump-leaning elderly voters.
Apart from the disastrous optics of this pandemic killing large numbers of people, there’s also the fact that Democratic ballot harvesters will convert them into Democratic votes. We can survive a temporary downturn. We can’t survive a landslide defeat that turfs every single Republican in office and brings forth Venezuela-style economic policies.
