Hence the conditional word: would
I saw a healthy food in a dollar tree. All Natural apple slices. After I bought it, I read it was made in China. Healthy foods and China are oxymorons!!
It the regulatory of anyone involved with wet chemistry that kills it. Energy costs are great but so many states and localities just harass these companies non-stop.
They are afraid of the chemical factory boogie man
I would much rather pay 100 dollars more for my next I Phone if it were built in the USA. I would most rather pay 25cents more for a head of lettuce if it was harvested by an legal resident of the USA.
Oddly I do pay much more for that head of lettuce today. It is mostly harvested by illegals that also get social benefits. I may pay a dollar for that head of lettuce. It is actually more expensive than that. The illegal that harvests it will probably get welfare benefits and that is my tax dollars.
ps
I am married to a Mexican National now a USA citizen. Her dad sent her to the USA to be educated in our universities. She as her sisters grabbed the American Dream and ran with it. They all now graduates of the University of Texas El-Paso. They did it in English and not Spanish. I think this is the way it is supposed to work. I grew up on the border and speak Spanish though I am a gringo.
Yep - Nixon made history in several ways....giving China “Most favored nation” status is, in my mid, one of the worst of them.
It was a mistake. Nixon didn’t do it.
He left office on August 9, 1974.
Trade status was adjusted in the late 80s, 90, 2000s.
Massive trade with China didn’t start until the mid part of
GHW Bush’s term. I called fowl by 1992, when it became
apparent what was going to take place.
Clinton extended them MFN in 1994.

Here’s some information from the Atlantic, faulting things
as they turned out.
Couldn’t find one Leftist who was against it in the day.
Thanks - my memory said Nixon went to China and then tied the “Most Favored Nation” bit to it...seems like the older I get, the more the years kind of cram together...
