NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana death toll from the coronavirus pandemic rose Sunday but the rate of infection appeared to have slowed dramatically, according to figures released by the Louisiana Department of Health.
The state had a total of 3,540 confirmed cases as of noon CDT Sunday, compared to 3,315 on March 28.
That increase of 225 cases, or less than 7%, marks a dramatic flattening of the curve Louisiana had experienced last week, when the percentage rise was as high as 28% on some days.

Not testing. They test for flu, flu is negative, they know it’s Covid-19.
Look on YouTube today of all the hospitals in NYC that look almost empty. People are slugging it out with this flu at home. Sorry not Ebola or H1NI, more the regular flu with an attitude.

I’m sick of hearing that the death toll rose. The death toll can only go up. How about reporting something meaningful like the trend of daily deaths?

I was rooting for travel bans and quarantines back in January. Some happened, some didn't. Enough didn't, that now we have a growing mess.
I was rooting for ramping testing, which eventually happened and is still ramping.
Now I'm rooting for manufacture of masks and goggles to ramp so that everyone can wear a mask. Then society can open back up and the transmission is greatly lowered. That's how you stop this thing.
Maybe they stopped sweating on each other.
Louisiana is a state where warm weather and sunshine should be taking hold as spring arrives.
The good folks of Louisiana need to get outside, get fresh air, and sunshine.
These are very, very powerful antidotes to any virus.
