WASHINGTON - Health care was already a vulnerability for President Donald Trump before the coronavirus pandemic hit. Now his lack of a plan to fix the system is coming under a new microscope as the crisis costs many Americans their coverage and overwhelms providers.
The clarity in Trump's health care vision begins and ends with repealing the Affordable Care Act, or ACA, also known as Obamacare. His budget proposals would strip away funding for the law, and he has endorsed a lawsuit to wipe it off the books. But the president hasn't thrown his weight behind a replacement bill or even an outline, and he has rejected calls to reopen Obamacare for enrollment during the current crisis.
Trump's focus on mitigating the economic damage has kept health care on the back burner. Some allies worry that with millions of newly unemployed Americans poised to lose coverage during a public health crisis, Trump's lack of a plan for the needy will be a political liability in his re-election bid.
"Not having a plan for the rising uninsured yet seems to be a blind spot," Dan Eberhart, an oil executive and Trump donor, told NBC News. "The Democrats took the House in the 2018 midterms largely by having better answers on health care, so I think this could be a massive political liability in the fall.
"Trump has provided sober and strong leadership, but this could prove to be his Achilles' heel in November," he said.
The virus outbreak catches Trump in a bind, caught between fulfilling a 2016 campaign promise and the unpopular real-world consequences of ending ACA subsidies and protections that have become more salient for voters as the law faces credible threat of termination.

Admitting that Trump provided sober and strong leadership but not conforming to Democrats and their boutique social programs interests, the Newzak just goes on and on.
I believe the President is going to pay the hospitals directly. And some of the Insurance companies have already said they will waive payments. I believe BCBS is one of them and the President made note of it.

Medicine is a private industry. Many of the hospital beds in the US come from religious institutions, yet government has taken the position it is responsible for the payment of medical services. I should be able to get a competent lawyer to represent me for any action I require, at a price I can afford. There should be a limit as to the number of lawyers a big business can engage in its fight against me. Fair is fair.
Obama’s CDC, D-run states and D-run cities wasted years not restocking after Obama’s H1N1 pandemic and not prepping for the next one.

It’s not just NBC “News” / Comcast. They are all going after Trump - CBS, ABC/Disney, NYT, WaPo, CNN, pMSNBC, all of them. They know the President is leading this crisis with authority and clarity. They bitch about him because they FEAR him.
One real howler from NBC last week was Jane Timm’s fact checking Trump’s claims about COVID-19, in which she mentions this gem of D-NBC wisdom:
“Claim: The U.S. implemented a travel ban “way ahead of anybody else.” This is false. Italy had already done so by Jan. 31 and North Korea had banned all foreign tourists Jan. 22.”
How can someone with a straight face make such a ludicrous mention and comparison with North Korea? And who in heaven’s name would want to enter North Korea as a tourist to begin with? And the rest of the article reads a great like the above quoted in terms of such high mindedness on her part, but ends up coming across with the same sort of ridiculousness on her part.
Agreed. Since we actually do not have a free press any longer in this country, when will the investigations begin on their industry as a whole. Apparently they are working for and with every known enemy of America. Unfortunately, its just not one or two outlets that are in actuality, seditious and treasonous, it’s all of mainstream. Yes and I understand the first amendment, but this kind of hate and lies have got to stop.

Obamacare is great. It’s just nobody can afford $1000/month payments and $7500 deductibles.
Well, it was a lot of use to the Obama’s buddies who “earned” millions of dollars creating a webpage that didn’t work.
