Trump said in 2015 he only had 2 “ primary” objectives which is the wall and the judges. Bannon made sure to remind Trump before he was fired. It was a given about the economy so he did not need to make that promise.

My mother worked on “The Hill” back in the late 1930s and early 1940s. As a youngster, I remember her laughingly saying, “the Senate is an ‘old boys club’; everyone is very polite and condescending, but they all look out for their own best interests.”
