Yes. MANY MANY scientists all over the world are working with these viruses. Trying to figure out how to fight them, vaccinate against them, and just generally study them. That’s how science works. You need samples of a virus to study it. And you need to study it to cure it, or better yet vaccinate against it. That does NOT however mean it “escaped” from their lab. Especially since we already know it’s in the wild in that cave, which is why we were having it sampled.
