Trump's Job Rating Slides; U.S. Satisfaction Tumbles
Gallup ^ | 4/16/20 | Justin McCarthy

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As President Donald Trump works to contain the damage from the novel coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., the rally in support he enjoyed as the nation entered a virtual lockdown has faded. His job approval rating, now 43%, has slipped six percentage points since mid-March when he earned 49% approval, which tied his personal best.

The six-point decline in the president's approval rating is the sharpest drop Gallup has recorded for the Trump presidency so far, largely because Trump's ratings have been highly stable and have yet to reach the historical average for presidents (back to 1945) of 53%.

I support Trump, but too much trust is accorded to Fauci and Birx - I don’t think they have earned that trust.

You have to be right or we’ve had it.

Over half of the dimwitted and mostly rotten common Americans are home watching hours of leftist news media propaganda. So impressionable.

Dinner conversation: “So what do you think is true when the CNN show comes back with the poll results? Is Biden more like George Washington or like John F. Kennedy.” “That’s a tough one. He such a leader.”

Just get the Red States to reopen. The Blue States will go to Biden anyway. And since it’s the Blue States that have the biggest problem with the virus, getting them open will be a tough job. Let the remain shut and blame the Dem governors for the bad economies in those states.

Democrats are at home during the lockdown and they answer the phone.

Republicans have essential jobs and cannot be home to answer the phone.

I agree he and the GOP Governors must not go wobbly. Part of this slide is some of us saying OK enough we know you had to let Dr Doom have his way but enough we want to at least try to get our country back.

Go read the Constitution. He does not have the power to re-open a state closed by the state government.

Your state got what it voted for at the state level.

Not surprising, with such a huge spike in unemployment and an economy veering on a depression. It would be shocking if the President’s numbers did go down with such terrible economic news.

Deliberate sabotage of the economy in a grab for power. We are at the edge of our existence as a country. Man, what a mess. The Democrats are a truly EVIL group of people.

It’s only April. Things will change in seven months. Trump has not handled this flu panic perfectly to say the least, but it’s him or oblivion for the country. Some of you Freepers give in to despair so easily it gets tiring.

he’s still miles ahead of any of the visible D-commie possible candidates

now, the D strategy of undercutting and subverting our elections and our elected government... COULD SUCCEED if they only got a little smarts to nominate a salable “moderate”......

but SorozNazi, for all his filthy lucre and lust for power-again-after-ObamaPuppet, is not exhibiting the smarts to do it
