Only another 80% and we will approach the safe levels.

Swing open the doors and run wild.

No it didn’t. She was too diplomatic to say the study is crap because the test is from china and the specificity was 87%.

THERE ARE NO USA APPROVED, ACCURATE, COVID ANTIBODY TESTS IN THE USA.

She addresses the problem of antibody test accuracy, and the problem with a test that is 99% specific is that a positive will be only 50% accurate.

There was nothing “paranoid” or “conspiracy” about his post. Authorities have been instructed by the CDC to code anything suspected of covid-19 as covid-19. Anyone placed on a ventilator with a covid-19 designation means $$ for the hospital. This information is all of the news the past 2 weeks.

Unbelievable there are still conservatives who still defend the concept of official narratives after Russia-gate, Ukraine-gate and more.

If the fatality rate is that low, how do you explain the number of fatalities in New York City? There would need to be more people infected in the city than there are total people in the city.

We don't know if there would be 50 to 80 times the additional infections in NYC. However, what the study does possibly suggest is that there is a much larger number of infections. In NYC, that could translate to a herd immunity type of scenario.

I believe Cuomo will be doing similar testing in NYS soon to see what's up.

If that is the case, the economy needs to reopen immediately and everyone here prattling on about social distancing needs to shut up.

Not in my county. Such a scenario would mean full saturation.

Read post 22

Dr. Birx has consistently talked about the importance of covid antibody test accuracy. Which is why non of the current ones are approved, they don’t have the accuracy level we are looking for. Dr. Birx said it this way. “the last thing you want to do is tell someone they had covid, and are immune when they actually aren’t because the test was inaccurate”.

The test used in California was 87% specific, if that’s true any study done using it is PURE CRAP; https://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3837215/posts

Because what we were told, “This antibody test is VERY specific for COVID-19 and doesn’t’ take cross react with any other Coronavirus at all.” That was last night. This morning we discover this contention was pure horse crap. Three different tests, two with Specifities of 83% and 87%. IOW, more of the “Blizzard of BS” people are being subjected to.

Can always count on you to toe the media line with your worst-case scenarios.

Fauci wasn’t there. I think she is taking over as the medical face of the task force. She is more polished and apparently a better team player.

If she were confident in her own science she would have said exactly that.

Just reporting what I read right here. This morning it was revealed the test they used weren’t as specific as they said. When I see something here that makes sense I’ll comment on that as well.

Of course, if your presupposition is i don’t know what the hell I’m talking about, you probably won’t believe that when it happens, either.

She pretty much said that. But as she says, she is a data person and will not say what she does not have data to prove. Because of that I like her a lot. She and others will look into this study and I’ll bet it turns out to be crap.

People need to remember there are no US approved covid antibody tests at this moment, because of accuracy issues. Dr. Birx has covered this a lot.

I saw that. The data is exploding on them. The lethality rate is at the flu level. Everyday it becomes obvious that Covid ain’t what it used to be.

Agreed it shows her to be honest and open-minded.

But given her reaction I think it’s clear she now has doubts about the original models.

These tests are based on a the family of family SARS-CoV (which includes is SARS-CoV SARS-CoV-2 and MERS-CoV called Beta-CoVs. Which our body fights with two antibodies both IgG+IgM

They test the most common antibodies (IgG+IgM) and claim in the documentation they test for SAR-CoV-2 which that is part of both IgG+IgM antibody.

Anti-bodie for the The common gold is IgM. Herpes is IgG. I do not know if someone has both the common cold and herpes would give a positive reading it should though.

Of course she has doubts about the prediction models, and so has Dr. Fauci. They’ve talked about it many times at the briefings.

Could probably say the same thing about almost every communicable disease known to man.

No, my presupposition is that you are a knee-jerk worst-case-scenario guy, and that you see it as your mission place every bit of news that emerges in "this is actually much worse than you think" light.

It wasn't that long ago that you were leaning toward the models that predicted hundreds of thousands if not millions of deaths in the US from this thing, even while refusing to put your own best-guess number on it.

I was wrong about where the test was from and it’s specificity accuracy. The test isn’t from China, it’s from the USA but it is not approved. It’s accuracy is in question for many reasons, one outlined in post 35.

“I do not know if someone has both the common cold and herpes would give a positive reading it should though.”

That is exactly what Dr. Birx doesn’t want!
