He was already confirmed by the Senate, right? What high-level job can Trump get him into pronto? He would be a natural as the permanent replacement to Grenell running intel, but what else would be best right now? I don’t trust Trump’s current national security advisor, would love to see Flynn in that chair this week!
The FARA was part of the setup. Flynn didn't know the firm he did business with had direct ties to the Turkish government. His business partner had his conviction immediately overturned because the jury didn't apply the law properly. Papadapolous was threatened with FARA violations as well. I didn't follow the FARA part of the case that closely, but I've read points of view that he didn't need to fill out the FARA paperwork because he didn't know. After being notified, then he would have to fill out the paper work if the Turkish firm was still a client.

So what exactly was this “foreign agent work”? An *American* paid him to investigate a Turkish cleric tied to a world-wide network which was blamed for instigating a failed coup.
