Handling a drunk is quite different from dealing an armed enraged idiot.

In fifteen years doing this i have handled such. I also participated in a manhunt for the killer of a police officer who didn’t handle it.
Impressive.
Obviously you were well prepared.
And are a person of strong character.
I personally have met too many guards placed in the job with little training.or understanding of the duties,limits and risks.
It started on my first night on my first job site in 2005. At 1 AM there were three just out Afghan vets squaring for a fight who were off the beach and not supposed to be on the property anyway. I was alone and there was no one to call. What to do. I couldn’t let this one get away on my first night. I strode up right into the middle of them and started issuing orders. You- sit down right there! You- stand in that doorway! You- back off now! and they all complied. I thought, “Damn! I can do this.” I did not consider until later that these guys had just spent tours in Afghanistan obeying orders by authoritative voices. It was ingrained. But it set the tone for me. I developed all sorts of creative ways to use my radio without actually calling anyone and how to give orders by indirection and third party suggestion, etc. A couple of techniques I came up with and used successfully are now part of my then employer’s training.
