Most new Covid-19 hospitalizations in New York state are from people who were staying home and not venturing much outside, a “shocking” finding, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday.
The preliminary data was from 100 New York hospitals involving about 1,000 patients, Cuomo said at his daily briefing.
It shows that 66% of new admissions were from people who had largely been sheltering at home. The next highest source of admissions was from nursing homes, 18%.
“If you notice, 18% of the people came from nursing homes, less than 1% came from jail or prison, 2% came from the homeless population, 2% from other congregate facilities, but 66% of the people were at home, which is shocking to us,” Cuomo said.
“This is a surprise: Overwhelmingly, the people were at home,” he added. “We thought maybe they were taking public transportation, and we’ve taken special precautions on public transportation, but actually no, because these people were literally at home.”
Cuomo said nearly 84% of the hospitalized cases were people who were not commuting to work through car services, personal cars, public transit or walking. He said a majority of those people were either retired or unemployed.

Unbelievable what a bad job Cuomo has done, and how the media lauds him for it.
Staying at home lowers your immune system. Those of you who have been too afraid to leave your home and come in contact with germs will be far more likely to get sick when you do start venturing out and mingling with humans. Coming in contact with germs is necessary for a strong immune system
They are getting it from Netflix.
So now that we know the lockdown is pointless, can we go back to work?
It’s not shocking. Social distancing and masks apparently aren’t making much of a difference in transmission of the virus.

I suspect the food supply or transmission in apartment buildings.
Do these people live in apartments or single family dwellings?
How are they getting groceries?
Is anybody checking groceries.
The folks that have already gotten the virus were the ones out and about and will have a higher chance of getting it. Those that “stay at home” (well, I did visit the neighbor once, and got gas, and go to the store every two weeks...) are reducing their chances of getting it, but I think with as virulent as Covid-19 is, it will be pretty difficult to not get it.
So Lets say it takes 20 trips out and about to get it. Even folks “staying at home” for two months are probably at the 20 number by now. But - it served it’s purpose to flatten the curve. It was never intended to be the cure. (I’ll need to work on that rhyming.)
Would it help to confuse it if we run away more?
Time to end the lockdowns then.
Well that’s ridiculous - your house is full of bacteria and germs, especially if you have pets.
Don’t just make stuff up.
We are helping an elderly neighbor couple. Nothing goes into their house without me decontaminating it. (We do the shopping for them, route Amazon packages to our house, etc.)
Although the husband has started going out more, and I’m not sure how careful he is. I still decon whatever he buys, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he is having snacks and licking his fingers after he is at the store.
Cuomo’s pitching for a bailout from the feds. If he said the sky was blue,I’d have to go look.
Maybe it’s in the water, and the city/state is spreading it.

This does show that “Lockdown” etc measures split the outbreak into two ‘ciurves’.
Imagine if all these cases had, instead, come earlier- at the same time as the rest.
Still, I do think that ‘lockdowns’ have succeeded- but are not appropriate anymore. The curve was flattened. Let’s move on.
Cuomo is a liar and a demonr at ... but that’s redundant. The guvnah sent covid patients back to nursing homes to die while infecting the ones still in the ‘home’. A Mafia thug would not be as heartless a dead soul as this guvnah. Cuomo found a way to reduce benefit recipients while making money off of their deaths.
Cuomo’s some kind of disgusting.

Bingo. Stay at home with no outside human contact, you begin losing your built-up immunities.
So they get sick. Flu. Why does everyone think it’s a death sentence? Under 70? No worries.
