The coronavirus is every bit as widespread and contagious as the common cold, and just as deadly.
This fact should not surprise anyone. After all, what we call “the common cold” IS coronavirus.
Except the common cold doesn’t put a large proportion of those that catch it in the hospital because of pneumonia-like symptoms and they can’t breathe for 2-3 weeks.
But hey, as I’ve been told here, Covid isn’t even a flesh wound. It’s nothing!

That’s my whole point - a common cold is not deadly.
Covid19 is about 1/85th as “deadly” as it was reported to be 45 days ago. The reason is partly because the morbidity rate was based on confirmed cases, and failed to account for the huge majority of cases that go unreported.
As the estimate of that number grows, the morbidity rate continues to shrink.
Another reason for the downward revision of Covid19 morbidity is the discontinuation of the absurd practice of assigning cause of death to Covid19 if it was present at the time of death.
If they assigned the common cold as the cause of death every time someone died who had recently had a cold, then the common cold would indeed appear deadly.
What will the morbidity rate be 45 days from now as they continue to improve and refine testing, and continue to increase the estimated number of unreported and/or non-symptomatic cases? What will it be in a year after they realize a huge percentage of the deaths attributed to Covid19 were not caused by Covid19?
We won’t really know how deadly this virus was until we can look back objectively, absent the fear and panic, absent the political agendas, absent the fake news hyperbole, and absent the bureaucratic manipulation of statistics to scare people into social distancing compliance.
