I do not think “bad optics” were worried about during the late eighteenth century.
Given the state of technology these days, it is nearly impossible to make an actual death threat against a high government official without being caught.
I MIGHT believe that Wretched Witless received many ACTUAL death threats when the perpetrators are paraded in front of the news cameras as they are being hauled into jail pending trial.
Until then, I’m gonna assume that they are lying about the death threats for their own purposes.
Notice how Antifa fails to show up when our side is armed?
