Yesterday I had a strange yet somehow familiar name keep popping into my consciousness. Doctor Faustus. In the past I have heard the adjective Faustian used in a negative sense, although I never knew its exact meaning. In unwelcome recurrent thoughts, the name connected with Doctor Fauci. I was on the phone reporting this strange occurrence to a friend who promptly did a search on Doctor Faustus. The result is enough to run chills up your spine. I have no specialty in ancient literature, so I have no idea why this came into my mind. I certainly never have read the story by Christopher Marlowe from the 1500’s. Look it up if you dare.
The CNN/DNC matrix is clearly testing a couple of lines of attack.
There’s “Trump took too long to act.”, which is weak beer, and they know it.
And there’s the “Trump refuses to listen to the science.”, which plays to their audience, but everyone else just rolls their eyes.
Now it’s going to be “Trump killed your grandmother.”, but they need to be careful, because that can be turned back on Cuomo and Newsom.
He is 80, time to retire.
I can’t say that I agree with Trump on this. Our kids need to be KEPT CLEAR of those government institutions for as long as possible...Coronavirus or not.

Yes, this thing is going to unravel quickly for the Democrats, once it becomes obvious to the public that the continued shutdown is 100% politically motivated.
And it IS obvious. Only Democrats are calling for extending the shutdown - and they are becoming increasingly nasty about it - Wolf is calling anyone who disagrees “cowardly”.
This will not end well for the Democrats. But that is small comfort to those losing their livelihoods.

You should never let a technocrat make public policy.
They’re like hammers - everything they see is a nail to be pounded.
Policy should be made by elected officials who look at the broader picture and consider all the various interests of the people that elected them, not just a single interest. Yes they should consult with experts on the various issues at stake, but the final decision should be theirs.
And depending on how good a decision they make, they will be punished or rewarded at the ballot box.
It is not his place to influence policy. #firefauci
