What a bunch of bunk.

Hell the proponents are citing themselves!

Then you scroll down to references. Just one direct link. #6 by MIchael Greenstone and Vishan something or other. “We project that 3-4 mo’s of moderate social distancing beginning in late March....would save 1.7 million lives by October 1. In the United States alone!

Right...no mention of face masks. Imagine if we used face masks. We could probably save a billion people in the U.S alone!!!!

Hell. I’m in.

‘The mask is to keep you from spreading the disease and killing innocent people.’

if I go out in the streets of my town, and encounter x amount of reasonably healthy people, they are not going to become infected, mask or no...unless I am infected and I shed droplets on them within a space of five feet or so; this requires a sneezing or a coughing jag on my part, or getting in someone’s face and spitting while I talk loudly; absent those shedding events and I am infecting nobody...

and if I did shed on these people, their masks won’t save them; the droplets will enter through the eyes...

Some folks say. That a mask actually increases people touching their faces as they are constantly adjusting them. Taking them on and off etc...

So there’s that. Masks don’t cover the eyes do they?

Unless you believe that there are a lot of people going out into public with symptoms, then you kind of have to assume that most people get it from asymptomatic people.

Major assumption on asymptomatic spread. I wouldn't be surprised if symptomatic people were going out in public, especially at the beginning of the epidemic.

Germophobia of COVID-19, which itself is also nasophobia, the fear of contracting a specific disease, can be cured with proper professional mental health therapy.

>> Something selfish people like you will never understand

It’s the thinking behind that statement that concerns me the most.

Do you also find “anti-vaxxers” to be selfish?

And what about those that prefer the herd-immunity approach?

Naive conformance kills many, destroys nations.

There has been zero testing to see if asymptomatic people shed a viral load high enough to cause illness

Asymptomatic people haven’t been tested for anything except a few tests for antibodies

Tell me how often people wearing cloth masks sterilize them

As an “honest statistician”, don’t you know that 58.6% of statistics are made up??

The problem is that you have no idea who has been infected and who has not been infected. That includes you.

This is especially true if you live in a hot zone.

If you live in a county with no infections you’re good for now.

I am for what ever it takes to open the economy sooner rather than later.

Pretending the virus doesn’t exist is not it.

If we wear the muzzle, we can’t bite our masters.

An article by a bunch of clowns that probably didn’t take any science courses in their pursuit of multiple degrees, don’t even have productive jobs and cite no replicated studies to back up their unsupported speculative claims.

Okay, fine. Maybe it could be only symptomatic people spreading the virus. Maybe we don't know, it could either or both. We've got 1.4 million cases in the US. That's a lot of people spreading the virus. Let's assume everyone is symptomatic and everyone wears masks.

That’s why God gave you a brain, those at risk are the ones that need to not get it, they need to wait till everyone else recovers.

I’ve got a better solution: let’s assume everyone will do what is best for them, and exercise their God-given freedoms.

Educate them on best practices, and give them honest data on how well certain practices and prophylactics work, but, as long as they are asymptomatic, allow people freedom to act.

Not to mention the difficulty in breathing, by wearing a vacuum cleaner bag over your mouth and nose. Just gonna shoot myself instead...

Very interesting! My expert vs yours. How will we ever win the argument? It is indeed like “climate change” info, each side stubbornly clinging to what supports their beliefs anyways.
