A Florida man is now facing a federal terrorism charge and up to five years in prison after he was accused of coughing and spitting on police officers while claiming to be infected with the coronavirus.
James Jamal Curry, 31, was served an indictment by a federal grand jury in Tampa Wednesday for perpetrating a biological weapon hoax, the Associated Press reported.
St. Petersburg police officers responded to a domestic violence call involving Curry on March 27, according to court documents. During his arrest, Curry declared that he was infected with COVID-19 and coughed on an officer’s arm, police said.

I’m sure there will be civil rights complaints filed against the police for this.

Om the 80’s there was a case in NYC of someone who was ultimately convicted of 2 counts attempted murder a police officer. They were arresting him on a warrant for a much lesser charge and he bragged he had AIDS while spitting on them. The court determined this idiot really thought he could transmit AIDS by spitting and he had the INTENT of killing them.

It’s definitely an assault on a police officer but if he isn’t actually infected going to terrorism is a leap.
Wrong! Mask-wearing in public places protects other people. Masks reduce the viral load in the air, and that significantly reduces the transmission. Sheep are too stupid to get that — intelligent, civic-minded humans get it.
BTW, how would you feel about someone with HIV/AIDS (or claiming such) spitting on you?
If a pressure-cooker bomb fails to detonate after the fuse is lit, does that mean filling it with explosives, and placing it in a public place wasn’t terrorism?
Your argument is akin to saying he was knowingly infected with coronavirus and was attempting to spread it but simply failed.
