The state of Minnesota is requesting 1,000 additional National Guard soldiers as rioting broke out once again Friday night following the death of George Floyd earlier in the week.
Gov. Tim Walz and Minnesota National Guard Adjutant Gen. Jon Jensen announced the request at a news conference early Saturday, FOX 9 of Minneapolis reported.
Guard personnel already deployed in addition to state and local police just havent been able to control the violence and unrest that the Minneapolis-St. Paul area has seen in recent days, Walz said.

This is what you voted for, Minneapolis. Now stew in it.

Well governor when you do not allow them to use effective fore what to you expect.
The governor was rattling on and sounded ridiculous. It looks to be a long weekend. The entire police department needs to be gone through with a fine tooth comb. More and better training, more and better psychological testing prior to hiring, more and better monitoring during a cop’s career, police departments have to change.
River runner, did Kent State teach you nothing? You can’t fire on protestors. You have to protect people.
Start gunning them down and this shit will stop.
Burn the Leftist s**thole to the ground.
Theyre not people, theyre enemy combatants.
no dude, they are fellow countrymen. How old are you? You must be too young to remember the sixties.
Seems like every one else is mentioning shooting my post Just said effective force.
If that means shooting to you.
That is your personal problem.
Leftist troll.
So, river runner, what did you mean?
Hardly. Female, former Army officer, conservative, small business owner, Trump supporter.
This is part of the plan and we expected it. This is all orchestrated by soros and enemies inside and outside our country. The deep state is sweating and chaos is the answer
U-assholes! They somehow believe that rioting is a part of “due process”. They should expect to be shot, tazed, hit with tear gas, etc., and that’s ALL they should expect.
“Start gunning them down and this shit will stop.”
Agreed, this is beyond anarchy it is a revolution. IMO
Isn’t that special. I guess your “small business” is safe from the rioter’s torch then.
Effective force runs the gambit.
From simple disperse orders to deadly force.
The options are many not just shooting
If you just stand by and allow unchecked law breaking.
You only embolden the law breakers.
Targeting the leaders with arrest and confinement would be a good start.
But dam that might mean arresting the mayor, governor, police chief and the states AG.
In 1945, my father-in-law was a young soldier stationed at Fort Bliss (El Paso) Texas.
He was a weapons specialist. He was ordered to arrive at the U.S. Mexico border in a two and a half ton truck with a .50 caliber, M-2 machine gun mounted on top. Upon arrival, his lieutenant ordered him to follow the orders of a Mexican major there regarding a “riot” of Mexicans on the bridge crossing to Mexico.
The Mexican major ordered my father-in-law to fire his machine gun (loaded with live ammunition and tracers) across the bridge and over the heads of the rioters raising hell on the bridge. It was nearly dark.
He opened fire with the fifty and the rounds went flying through the air with a roar and a light show of tracers.
The crowd abruptly stopped what they were doing and fled for their lives.
The young soldier said all he could see were “asses and elbows” for a few seconds as the crowd disappeared.
One riot. One fifty cal. machine gun. Over and out.
Did the protesters at Kent State burn down a city? Or two, or three?
Perhaps you are using the wrong historical comparison.
Perhaps it is not Ohio in 1968. Perhaps it is Paris in 1792.
