MN Gov. Walz: I Underestimated ‘Wanton Destruction’ and Crowd Size

During a press conference on Saturday, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) stated that despite the “largest civilian deployment” in the history of the state, law enforcement lacks the numbers to respond to rioting in the state, and that “We cannot arrest people when we’re trying to hold ground.” He also took responsibility “for underestimating the wanton destruction and the size of this crowd.”

Roberts just wrote an opinion on 1st amendment rights that "restriction allowing churches to reopen at 25% of their capacity, with no more than 100 worshipers at a time, “appear consistent" with the First Amendment. Roberts said similar or more severe limits apply to concerts, movies and sporting events “where large groups of people gather in close proximity for extended periods of time.”

Use it to restrict peaceful proesters (rioters, looters) to no more than 100 at a time.

There's no will to use the force necessary to do that. They let them congregate until there are many hundreds, too many to do anything about short of a military-type sweep with heavy handed mass arrests. The Democratic governors and mayors are not law and order types, and would like to shift both responsibility and blame to Trump.
