Too bad the fake pope isn’t and neither are most of the hierarchy of the Catholic church.
I don’t care if PDJT is a champion for any religious denomination. I care more that he’s a champion for the First Amendment so that every person can worship as he wishes without fear of persecution.
I think its non-specific support for 1st Amendment rights is what Trump has done. But to say specificly that he has championed the Church is a statement that only indirectly or tangentially obtains.

Huge DITTOS
It’s too bad the “Catholic” university where Holtz coached is not a champion of the Catholic faith...
Excellent point.
Daniel 2:21
Well said.
Yes. Trump would not be welcome in a Roman Church. Holz leaves that little detail out. Neither would Melania. Something about 3 marriages would keep him from fully participating
His support for Christianity is just fine, which would include Catholics. But Trump supports our right to freedom of religion which is so much better than some of his predecessors.

Why don't you take that up with Jesus? Pretty sure *he* was the one who said that remarriage after divorce was adultery.
Just pointing out the inconsistency in the article. Trump would be allowed communion at an LCMS church if he talked with the pastor and affirmed our beliefs a out communion. Trump defends religious liberty and I am thankful for it. it to claim he specifically champions one denomination is a real stretch
to claim he specifically champions one denomination is a real stretch
....................................................
I don’t see that anything he said implies that the President champions ONLY the Catholic Faith. Could it be that some of the Catholic haters on this thread are simply seizing an opportunity to also express their dislike of our great President???
The headline is president trump is a champion of the catholic faith. The article goes on to talk about the catholic positions he supports. Some of us can read....
I dont hate Trump and am just pointing out the inconsistencies in the article
Trump is a cultural Christian who struggles with the actual practice of it. He is a strong ally and supports religious freedom. Beyond that is pretty much fantasy.
There is a local DC mens Catholic high school with the motto Men for Others. That is our President in a nutshell.God gave DJT this path and moment. He is the Man for Others. Amen and God Bless DJT He is a great man.
Trump would not be welcome in a Roman Church.
What are you talking about?
What Catholic Church would not welcome him?

Did you read the article?
He is responding to tge recent criticism of Trump by the archbishop Specifically
Lou Holtz says as much: “The fact is, there has been no president in my lifetime who has done more to protect religious liberty for all than President Trump.”
Holtz wrote the article as a public rebuke of a Catholic bishop who spoke out against the President. While he does write that President Trump is doing the right thing for American Catholics, he adds that the President is also doing it for the wider Christian community.
I can’t imagine this happening, but if a Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) bishop were to speak out against President Trump, I would expect a member of that denomination to remind said bishop that the President is doing the right thing for LCMS, as well as the wider Christian community.
