I think he was conflating “deep state interests” with “national interests”. That is where his argument breaks down.

Bolton wants everyone to think as highly of him as he does. He loves being important and he doesn’t suffer rejection lightly. He’s the MOST dangerous kind of person to have in control of anything of importance. That’s why he seems so comfortable siding with democrats- they have the same personality traits as him.
I wonder whether Bolton (who I liked) wasn’t part of the troubles Trump had (who I liked far more).

I put a whole huge amount more stock in China as a true long-term threat to America, and everything we hold dear, than I do Russia.

Yep...China’s been an instigator for many years. They’ve been egging North Korea on for years too. It pi$$es me off because the U.S. helped them during WWII, and they’ve been conniving against this country ever since. The Clintons were in the Chi-Coms back pockets, and were well-paid for their treason. The breach at Los Alamos occurred during Clinton’s second term too. They’re probably still getting paid by the Chi-Coms.
Trump’s re-election is in the national interest. The election of mind dead Joe Biden is a threat to our national interest and security. Can any thinking person think otherwise?
If that’s all true, why didn’t he say something at the time?
It should be said (I will say it) that getting Trump reelected is furthering the national interest. Essentially in the national interest. In the interest of national survival. And so on.
