A leading Democratic lawmaker asked the CIA for answers on an undisclosed advisory board Secretary of State Mike Pompeo organized during his time as head of the spy agency.
Rep. Stephen Lynch, the head of the oversight panel's national security subcommittee, expressed concern that the activities of the board may have been inappropriate and that its members were more likely to be wealthy, influential individuals.
"To date, the CIA has refused to identify the individuals selected by Mr. Pompeo to serve on the External Advisory Board during his tenure, as well as the role of his wife, Susan Pompeo, a private citizen, in organizing these events, the Massachusetts Democrat wrote in the letter. It is imperative that the CIA remains independent of undue influence from partisan political interests."
The concern is that Pompeo, a former Republican congressman from Kansas who served as CIA director from January 2017 to April 2018, may have been using the board to curry favor with influential businessmen and politicians.

how do you introduce evidence??? hmmmmmmmmm??
I liked the CIA when they only assassinated people!
I don’t see the problem
Just more Democrat House harassment. Just something else to feed the MSM.
Director Hayden established the board and it was a practice of CIA Directors from both political parties to continue the board.
Hayden, CIA Director from May 30, 2006February 13, 2009.
Appointed by Bush43, retained by Ovomit for a few weeks.
Replaced by Leon Panetta
When you express concern that ... activities may have been inappropriate , that really means I have no evidence of any wrongdoing.
IOW a fishing expedition
They’re trying to put out a negative since he has been mentioned as a possible 2024 candidate.
In my view, Pompeo, ever so rightly, wanted outside advice, as part of appropriately weighing what the permanent bureaucracy at CIA was saying.
The Democrat idea that ALL the folks at the CIA are “nonpartisan” is pure bull shit; as they would very well say themselves, and have said, whenever any major CIA view was not to their liking. Again, the Dims just keep showing their hypocrisy.
And everyone agrees that Leon Panetta checked his political hat when he walked in the door at the CIA. (PHOOEY)
The CIA having a cozy relationship with business leaders? Oh, you mean as in literally, from very the day it was created?
LOL, despite hit movies that’s all the CIA is, an enforcement arm for the business, banking and political elites. That is all it has ever been. It has exactly nothing to do with the US Constitution, the Republic, our freedom, etc.
CIA does a lot of operations congress never knows about because they can’t be trusted.
And also that’s the same reason the CIA hides it’s activities from the President. It has always operated independent of the US government, and never in any manner that the founders would recognize as constitutional or loyal to America.
The same 'CIA' that was in on the coup? THAT CIA? LOL... gimme a break.
It has always operated independent of the US government,
Black operations have to keep peoples name out of the paper trail for the safety of the operation.
Seal team six and other true Americans.
...because they cant be trusted.
Neither of them.
So a secret agency has a secret advisory board and the left’s not cool with it because it wasn’t their secret advisory board. Does that about cover it?
