Not at all. He’s just back to his original, true self. Anyone who thought that his change in rhetoric during the Kavanaugh hearings was sincere or permanent was deluding himself. Graham was just worried of getting primaried out, and without no threat of that happening on the horizon, he can go back to being the McCain Republican that he’s been all along.

And all those wonderful FBI field agents.

The blue slip requirement has been set aside before....more than once. Schumer has asked Clayton to withdraw his nomination. That tells you something.

Lotsa manipulated news on this nomination.

I think that he is trying to hide dirty deeds he did with McCain involving ISIS, Ukraine and China.

Graham is far too busy not doing any investigations.

My pure guess is Barr is about to drop some more shoes, possibly big ones in the form of serious indictments of important DemonShits. He and PDJT somehow believe those, and other yet to be disclosed maneuvers, are going to put the DemonShits on the defensive.

Does Trump really need somebody really need somebody in that position? Can’t the instructions and leadership go to some anonymous place holder, perhaps somebody who is retired and comes back on contract? I don’t see where this will interfere with whatever Trump needs to get done. Am I wrong?

What happens if it’s unfilled, do the cases just pile up or go to someone else?

I am not surprised at his refusal to advance the name. I am surprised he broadcast it.

Does Durham have the SDNY US Attorney in his sights???

As for Graham, POTUS needs to play hardball and hold up something Graham wants from him. Holding a needed signature or endorsement and Graham will pee in his pants.

Graham has always been a sometime friend. He has seemed enthusiastic for trump while slow walking investigations or making sure they went nowhere all while hyping their determination to "get the truth." Graham is apparently deeply involved in Ukraine shenanigans as are many Republicans in the Senate. He, and probably all of them are "compromised." Why would a Republican even run for Senator or Representative except to get rich? Democrats are both ideological and venal.

If you have a Republican Senator please take the time to write to them that this is unacceptable. Be courteous but firm. This hat in hand posture has got to stop.

Barr has asked POTUS to fire SDNY AG and he has done so. Letter has been made public.

My post was not an idea of my feelings about blue slip, just that it existed and Graham didn’t indicate it even made a difference other than allowing a process that has been used in the senate for over 100 years to be accomplished.

Prior to 2014, when the conservatives took control of the senate, they drove Obama nuts with going nay on every blue slip they came across and the first of the Trump years were 3 in 2017. This part of the process is just a formality and has no effect on the overall outcome unless the senate majority, McConnell who hates them, or Graham holds the nomination in committee, it will go to a vote after some he(( raising by the liberals. But they media is making it sound like it is a given that Graham will stop it. He didn’t say that. Let’s wait for what happens instead of pointing fingers like a lot of posters in this thread are doing. The blue slips haven’t stopped a Trump nomination yet....only Trump can if it is voted upon and passed. Blue slip can’t stop that.
