ATLANTA - A public viewing for Rayshard Brooks, the Black man shot in the back by an Atlanta police officer outside a Wendy’s restaurant, is planned for Monday at the city’s Ebenezer Baptist Church, with a private funeral to follow the next day.
Brooks, 27, was the latest in a long line of unarmed African Americans whose fatal encounters with law enforcement have been documented on video. His funeral, which the family’s lawyer said would be paid for by filmmaker Tyler Perry, will also be streamed on the church’s website.

Brooks was a drunk driver who passed out in the drivers seat at a drive thru, then shot at a cop.

What did this criminal contribute to society to warrant the public honoring him? The same goes for George Floyd. The police involved in their deaths should be accountable for any wrong actions on their part, but based on what we have learned about these two men, they are due no honor from the public at large.
They should burn down the CNN Center, that bastion to white supremacist Ted Turner (who himself played a Confederate solider in “Glory”), and replace it with a 100-foot high statue of Rayshard Brooks.
While George Washington and others’ statues are being torn down . The time is now ...for you know what . It’s now or never .
