Kinda funny, that tearing down monuments and statues weren’t a priority under the Obama, Clinton, and Carter administrations. Almost as if certain people waited until an evil Republican won back the WH so they can pull this crap.

Someone should tell them that the Sioux originally lived in Minnesota and Wisconsin. When they got horses from white settlers, they moved into the Dakotas where they subsequently drove out the local tribes, such as the Cheyenne.

In 1862 an Indian uprising in Minnesota and north western Iowa resulted in massacres of white settlers. Contemporary estimates are that as many as 800 settlers were killed or raped. Over 300 Santee Sioux were apprehended, tried before a military tribunal and sentenced to hang for their role in the massacres. President Lincoln personally reviewed the case against all the condemned and commuted all but 38. Those 38 were hanged at Mankato, MN in December 1862.

Given the sentiments at the time, Lincoln could have easily have authorized a genocidal war against all the Lakota tribes, but instead sought to punish only those directly involved in the killings and rapes. Lincoln acted with fairness and under the rule of law and should be given credit for that.

Trump should reschedule for the first week of August to coincide with the Sturgis celebration!

If my history is correct, the Sioux tribe was kicked out of the Northeast by other tribes and emigrated to the SD region.

Correct. According to Wiki

"Ancestral Sioux The ancestral Sioux most likely lived in the Central Mississippi Valley region and later in Minnesota, for at least two or three thousand years. The ancestors of the Sioux arrived in the northwoods of central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin from the Central Mississippi River shortly before 800 AD.

What I was referring to is the Origin Myth they have subscribed to in their religion as it was taught to me by an anthropology Professor at South Dakota State University, low many years ago.

Speaking of cultural sites. The twin towers could certainly be classified as such.

...and the first attack to attempt their destruction was what 1993.

They were destroyed by radical Islam in 2001.

How do we even start a discussion on “WAKE UP AMERICA”.

Especially for those nineteen and under.
