You mean the cashier who is not wearing an N-95 rated mask (anything less will not stop a virus)? Or the cashier that has had the same gloves on while taking care of the previous 25 customers ahead of you? Or the cashier that is wearing their mask (even if it is the right type) wrong, because they can't breath while doing their work? Those cashiers?

As I marvel at how willfully gullible and easily frightened the mask-wearers seem to be.
I can assure you that most of us not wearing masks nor saturating their environment w/disinfectants are neither stupid, ignorant nor reckless. Personally, at 77,with vulnerabilities, I know my body, my immune system and have a foundational grounding in sterile technique, along with an understanding of infection.
The test are inaccurate. They read persistent, non-infectious particles as a positive and sometimes, they miss small fragments and record a negative.
The theory of asymptomatic transmission is in question at high medical levels. Search the concept and see for yourself.
It is also possible, from similar sources, that 80% of humanity is immune to COVID 19 due to exposure to other coronaviruses in the past.
I’m no anti-vaxxer, but untested vaccines are suspect and have caused serious side effects in the past, as well as not protected. Vaccines simply attempt to provoke an immune response with adjutants (metals, et al) and by including inactivated copies of a virus, it is hoped that the provoked immune response to the adjutant will be associated with the specific included viral component and provide some antibody activity to that inclusion. MOST vaccines are only partially effective. Some are greatly successful. Flu vaccines are in the partial category.
Time-honored immune response is gained from exposure, often below infectious levels.
There are plenty of areas in the country not under draconian mandates with vibrant economies. In my county and the next 2 adjacent ones (85 miles), there are traffic, bars & restaurants, resorts and NOW HIRING signs. The local papers are full of Help Wanted ads. Those working are often doing overtime.
So, wear whatever, clean as often as you like and be injected with whatever. If you are right, your mask and your injection will protect you and you are assured that you are not infectious...unless, of course, your mask is ineffective and your vaccine in not effective, either.
Oh, and avoid air-conditioning this summer.
Do not demand others partake of your belief. I am fine with you wearing a mask and getting an untested vaccine of low-effectiveness.(aside: young *Karens* are the ones wearing masks and hectoring everyone to emulate them under threat of whatever they can imagine is threatening, delivered in very aggressive manners.)
IMO, the so-called pandemic is over. How can I tell? We are back to slurs against the POTUS and his supporters. The Resistance is in full roar.

True enough. I don’t lose sleep over it, and (unlike many on FR) I will get the vaccine if/when it becomes available. In any case, there is promising clinical evidence that CSS can be treated effectively with tocilizumab, along with a very high dose of vitamin C, if the treatment is administered before the patient becomes critically ill.

That is incorrect. The “theory” of herd immunity was developed in the 1930’s when it was observed that when a population reached about 68% natural immunity the remainder of the population never contracted the virus. This theory was co-opted by the vaccine industry.
The goal of vaccination was an attempt to artificially create herd immunity. Only problem is that herd immunity, as a theory, only works if there is lifelong immunity that can be passed on from mother to child so that at any given time there is always that certain percentage of immunity in the population. Once you substitute a shorter-lived vaccine-induced immunity for natural immunity, and as the older, lifelong immune individuals die off, the percentage of the population with lifelong immunity gets smaller until it falls below the protective threshold. Thus the vaccine goalpost percentage for herd immunity has to continually be moved to higher and higher levels until the requirement up to 95+% vaccination rates. And even at that level there still are breakouts of these infections.
There is no substitute for natural immunity the way God intended.
