Fourth of July revelers have been advised to stay away from Los Angeles County beaches as coronavirus cases skyrocketed.

The temporary closures affects all beaches, piers, parking lots, beach bike paths, and beach access points beginning on Friday at 12:01 a.m., and lasting through 5 a.m. on Monday, L.A. County officials announced.

Fireworks displays are also off-limits over the weekend in an effort to prevent gathering.

“We had almost 3,000 reported cases just today. We cannot risk having crowds at the beach this holiday weekend,” Hahn said on Twitter.

A question for Supervisor Janice Hahn...Why wasn't the public protests banned this weekend?

I listened to the discussion about this beach closure on my local radio show...KFI Los Angeles...John and Ken Show...A reporter told John and Ken that public protests are allowed this weekend...

LA County Officials are not telling people that it is not a good idea to go out and protest police brutality...Why not? It is not easy to practice social distancing while people are marching on the street...

On the beach, it is easy for people to practice social distancing...

People, protesting on the street, are more likely to get infected with coronavirus... However, LA County officials are not discouraging people from protesting on the street...

Officials, are you serious about slowing down the spread of the virus? Then you are not being intellectually honest when you allow the public protests...

I guess people in Orange County could still go to the beach this weekend...Wait a minute...Governor Gavin might order the OC beaches closed...I would not be surprised if he does that...

Go to the beach with a ton of your friends, call it a police brutality protest with signs advertising this, watch the fun.

I bet one could really get away with going to the beach with those signs. But you will also need some black lives matters signs or justice for George banners just for good measure.

Sheriff says he will refuse to enforce the order. The corrupt governors can harvest death certificates from nursing homes and fly sick patients in from mexico to US hospitals to pad the scary “new case” count, but people more and more are not buying it.. The Sheriff has the people on his side

At the beach, you will have plenty of fresh air and sunlight, which you will not get sitting in a cooling center wearing a mask. It is as though they want to maintain a general malaise.

His officers will only enforce the closing parking lots, the sheriff said.

Oh my. Doesn’t this mean that all of the rioters, looters and arsonists are at risk of cases skyrocketing among them, too?

‘I wonder what happened’! LA Times gets help connecting the dots about why ‘California’s slide from coronavirus success to danger zone began Memorial Day’

“We should check if there were any large gatherings where crowds of people yelled & screamed in close proximity to each other”

The powers that be must not allow patriotic displays to be observed since patriotic displays tend to make people feel patriotic and some patriotic people might vote a Republican ticket. In 2012 every firework barge in San Diego Bay blew up at the same time and it just so happened to be during an election year. It felt really suspicious.

Or use the name of whatever the local ‘victim of police brutality’ is, yes. I wasn’t kidding, I was dead serious about people doing that.

What California forgot to tell you...

(1) They are testing 40,000 to 50,000 new people each day. Half of the “new” infections have zero symptoms.

(2) In 2018, they had 6,917 influenza deaths.

(3) In 2020, they have had 5,983 COVID deaths.

(4) If California counted Flu deaths the same way they count COVID deaths, California would have had at least twice as many flu deaths in 2018.

They’re the ones causing the skyrocketing.

Wow, these people are geniuses. Cut the police force and quarantine everyone except “protesters.” Los Angeles is going to turn into Mexico City.

The complete control of the populace is nearly complete!

That said, "peaceful (/S) protests" will be allowed at the beach and anywhere else!
