As always here I am prone to exaggeration. However....

As a former national SF magazine book reviewer, book editor for a NY publisher and myself author of of three nonfiction books----it's really hard to get anywhere as a novelist. Never tried it myself.

Print dying out. Amazon and Barnes & Noble decide on what will be a bestseller more than the book publishers. Most small publishers to get a start for beginners are long dead now. I interviewed several authors and they started with small companies and an editor willing to take a chance on building their careers---most gone now. A small group of top sellers do great.

Companies pay for placement in bookstores. Being on certain TV shows is mandatory to be taken seriously. Almost no midlist left and so few book stores that they have to struggle to promote themselves more than ever.

So possible but odds more against the writer than ever before.

Notice Michael Savage wrote at least 2 novels (thrillers) that sold well after his nonfiction, and Newt Gingrich has several novels out, too. As did William F. Buckley with his well received novel series.

All in my jaded humble opinion, as always.

With all the garbage headlines proclaiming that “Trump flew into a rage about xyz”, you’d think he’d lose his cool in public and on camera just once, wouldn’t you? Still waiting

I know,right? Think of the number of times freepers have posted Bill O’Reilly’s or Lawrence O’Donnell’s meltdowns, or Dubya flipping tbe bird. The worst thing we’ve heard from Trump since he took office was a faint f-bomb muttered as he was about to go on national television and he got an ink spot on his shirt cuff.

What? Are the intelligence agencies children?

Elementary school Beta males?

Oh... I thought it would make you mad so we didn’t tell you?

Who believes this crap? And if in any way real the heads of the agencies should be fired right away.

Frankly, it also shows the mental state of the journalists reporting this..
