Speaking on "Face the Nation," former National Security Adviser John Bolton dismissed US President Donald Trump's claims that he wasn't briefed about intelligence suggesting that Russia commissioned Taliban-linked fighters to kill US soldiers, The Guardian reports.
"All intelligence is distributed along the spectrum of uncertainty," Bolton said. "And this intelligence ... by the administration’s own admission, was deemed credible enough to give to our allies. So the notion that you only give the really completely 100% verified intelligence to the president would mean you give him almost nothing. And that’s just not the way the system works."
Former National Security Adviser to President Obama, Susan Rice, echoed Bolton's sentiments, telling NBC that, "I don’t buy this story that he was never briefed ... When the information first came to light in 2019, my successor, John Bolton, would have walked straight into the Oval Office, as I would have, and informed the president...

His claim is, hey lots of intelligence is probably not true, but the president would get ALL of it. All intelligence from the entire world, even fire example a rumor a guy heard at a bar in Bucharest. Straight to the president.
Bolton’s remark was ridiculous.

If you believe nobody and nothing, you are insane. If you believe everybody and everything, you’re a fool. If you try to learn every tidbit of intelligence, regardless of credibility or relevance, you might as well just use a super computer and have it get back to you. There must be filters. The question is, how selective to set the filter. It can’t be all-inclusive, because then it’s not a filter. It can’t be all-exclusive, because then it’s not a filter either. So a balance must be struck, and according to Bolton, it’s his call where the balance is to be struck. But he’s stuck his foot in his mouth in the effort to assert his supposed balance point.
Bolton wears that ugly mustache to hide his fangs.
